Synopsis
EA Sports UFC is a mixed martial arts fighting video game developed by Electronic Arts and SkyBox Labs for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is based on the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) brand and was released on June 17, 2014. A playable demo was released on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Marketplace on June 3, 2014, with Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson as playable fighters. It is the first UFC game since THQ sold the license to Electronic Arts.

Story 8/10
There isnt much of a story to this game although there is a game mode called MyCareer that can classify as story mode.
I really liked the MyCareer because you start out by making your character and begin training and start off in the preliminaries of the Ultimate Fighter League. This means youll be battling a group of fighters for ONE spot in the UFC, whoever wins the entire tournament becomes the next UFC fighter. Once you obtain UFC fighter status you can begin to train before your next match starting out in the undercard meaning your fight isnt really that popular. Once you begin winning and winning you will start to see yourself get fights higher up in the undercard and eventually you get into the Main Card. The Main Card fights are the fights people really go to see and pay money to watch at home. If you succeed in the Main Card you will get an offer for the title fight against whoever is the current champion in the weight division you are in. The title fights are very hard, but once you win its very easy to be dominant in the league until your retirement. Also throughout your career you accumulate body damage. If you lose a fight your body damage will increase dramatically, if you win theres little to no increase in damage. Once your body damage is maxed out you have one good fight left in you and youre forced to retire. Another thing I forgot to mention is throughout your career you gain popularity in the world and as your fans increase you get more sponsors, the more sponsors you get the more gear you can get for your fighter, such as walkout gear and fighting gear which consists of the shorts your fighter wears as well as the sponsors that go on the shorts and your sponsor banner.

Gameplay 9.6/10
Now the gameplay for this is great, I already explained the MyCareer game mode which is basically story mode for a sports game. Now there are a couple other game modes you can play on this, such as Fight Now, which is where you can either fight against the computer or a friend thats at your house, you can do training mode which will improve your UFC fighting skills, and there is the Online Championships mode.
Now, Fight Now is simple, you and a friend hop on the game and select your fighter, you can choose from the current UFC roster that Ill have included at the bottom of this post and you and your friend can fight each other.
Training Mode is simple, theres a select number of areas you can train yourself in, Ground, Submission, or Stand Up. You have a set number of tasks to complete and can also increase or decrease the difficulty to either learn how to do the skill better or just learn to fight against a stronger opponent.
The last game mode is called Online Championships. You fight online against other UFC players in a belt system, kind of like tournament style. Theres also online tournaments but thats another thing. In the championship mode you start out at White belt and work your way up through Blue, Purple and Brown to the Black belt. In each belt division you have 10 fights to play, 3 points per win and 1 point if you go into a decision. For each division you must acquire a certain amount of points to either stay in the division, advance to the next belt, or win that division altogether.
Also there is a pretty decent soundtrack to the game, which you can also add to your fighter when you walk up to the ring. Ill include the list at the bottom along with the roster.

Graphics 9.8/10
Ill say something about this game right now, the graphics for this exceeded my expectations for a UFC game. Obviously, the game is for next-gens only (I hate saying that btw but thats the only current name for those that I know of lol), so the graphics should be pretty to really good but for this game particularly I was wowd. The fighters almost are exact replicas of themselves IRL. When youre throwing kicks sometimes you get knocked down and the fighter turns into a pretzel, almost a glitch but not really but thats probably the only bad thing I would say about these graphics. In fight, the fighter may get a cut on their face and it looks like a real cut, blood will drip onto the mat all down their face and chest. The only thing I would improve about the graphics are maybe get a little bit better on the faces but all in all theyre really good.

Controls 8.5/10
Now the controls for UFC are somewhat complicated and I didnt really understand them at first because I accidentally skipped the tutorial but once you actually go through the tutorial they start making sense. Its really all about how much you play the game that youll get the hang of the controls. There are a number of combos and moves to master, such as slams, punches kicks, ground moves, etc. The hardest thing to master on this is Submissions. I hate submissions so much because I really dont get them at all, you have to push gates out with the right stick and sometimes youll see the left stick and have to move it in the direction its going, to me its just complicated but like I said the more you play and the more you do training the easier the controls will become.
