Game Information
Release Date: January 20, 2010
Developers: Dream Dale
Publishers: Alawar
Platforms: Microsoft Windows, Windows 8, Vista
Genre: Arcade
Players: 1

Synopsis
Blast off with the most spectacular brick-buster yet in Smash Frenzy 4, an ingenious addition to the hit series! Thousands of men, women, and animals were transported to another dimension by aliens. In a whirlwind of ingenuity, the brightest minds on Earth came together and created a secret weapon that could return any object it touches to its home planet. Strap into your starship, transport the weapon across space and launch it to bring the captives back!

Gameplay
The concept of the game is the same as it always been. Players will use a ball in which the player will have to repeatedly bounce the ball back at the board of the level to destroy the structures on the level. Players will have to destroy different types of materials such as glass, grass, water, and other sorts of materials. Players will randomly receive power-ups after destroying certain parts of the level or by hitting the gift boxes or totem poles on the level. Players will notice a few new power-ups in the game like the UFO, which randomly picks up a single piece of material from the level and takes it away. And the sniper, which is an alien that hovers in a spacecraft with a sniper shooting 3 pieces on the level. Apart from those new power-ups, comes the previous power-ups like the powerball that can penetrate through anything without bouncing back, speed boosts, earthquake, various types of guns, and other sorts of unique power-ups to use. A few new things added are that the player will receive a medal by completing the level in a certain time but the quality of the medal will decrease when the player takes too much time to complete a certain level. Another new thing is the gems that appear when breaking up the pieces of the level. By collecting all ten gems in a level, upon completion, the player will receive a bonus to their score.

Graphics
The graphics aren't too much of a difference than the third installment of the Smash Frenzy series. The graphics in comparison are really rich in depth of details on the level and the animals and characters implemented on the level. By the game running smoothly, the graphics maintain their clarity and fluidity. But due to lag compensation, the levels becomes difficult to see and have that digital effect to them as well. The backgrounds in the game are vast and have a variety of colors and details on them. Some of the backgrounds will show a space theme while others will have a jungle, winter theme to the background to fit it with the style of the level. Overall, for players that have played the third installment shouldn't expect to see a drastic change to the graphics as there isn't much of a difference.

Controls
The controls are exactly like the previous installment's controls in the series. Players will use only a mouse to move in either the left or right direction. Players will find it a lot easier and have a smoother gameplay by using a wired mouse since the sensitivity is more reliable than the built-in mouses. Players will only have to left click if the player manages to get the magnet ability and the ball gets stuck on the player's wing to release it. Overall, the controls are nothing new and should be easy to understand for anybody that plays it, even for newcomers as well.

Rating
Gameplay: 9.8/10
Graphics: 9.7/10
Controls: 10/10
Overall: 9.7/10

Nice review Brigand! I remember playing one of the versions of this game and it was alright. May give this one a try. Not so sure if they really can get innovative with this concept to make more games but they are pretty fun.
