Game Information
Release Date: October 17, 2006
Developers: Pandemic Studio
Publishers: THQ
Platforms: Playstation 2, Xbox
Genre: Sci-Fi Action
Players: 1-2

Synopsis
Destroy All Humans! 2 takes the irreverent Sci-Fi action gaming experience into the swinging sixties with all new game features, expanded open-world gameplay and co-op multiplayer. Assuming the role of the Furon Scout - Crypto 137 - players will embark on another mission to earth to take on the world of free love, the Cold War and other 60's era icons. In Destroy All Humans! 2 Players have access to an upgraded arsenal of weapons and enhanced mental abilities while they battle a variety of new enemies from secret agents and giant creatures to Soviet Forces and ninja warriors.

Plot
In the late 60s, Crypto 137 had been found and killed by unknown causes. Oblivious to the dramatic event, Crypto 138 had taken the position of 137 to continue the reign of the Furon empire and take place of the president of the U.S by body snatching him. Unbeknownst to Crypto 138, he was later found out since the last war to have a genitalia. This so-called genitalia is soon discovered by the KGB which are the secret agents whose purpose is to find and obtain the package to take it back to their base to understand the meaning of the package which they are wrong and really isn't any package but really genitalia. Later on, the KGB manage to shoot down the mothership along with Pox who died upon impact but manage to somewhat download himself to create a holographic persona of himself to aid Crypto 138 in stopping the KGB from destroying the furons and taking control of America.

Gameplay
Destroy All Humans 2 brings more enhancements to the overall gameplay of the game with new added features that the previous installment didn't included. Players will get to travel to numerous locations around the world like England, Japan, and California, just with a more fictionalized setting. Players can now call in their UFO to a different landing zone other than the one that the player previously parked it at. The game offers more weapons for the player to use as well as the new upgrades for both the old and new weapons and UFO. A new feature added to the UFO abilities is that the player will be able to cloak the entire UFO for a short period of time before its becomes visible again. The purpose of the cloaking is to hide from the military from shooting the player down and attack without being seen or discovered. A great new feature that players are sure to enjoy is the feature of co-op. In co-op, both players can progress through the story together which provides significant help when playing solo. The use of co-op also brings in the addition of little mini-games like PK Tennis and Dual. Players will also gain new abilities to use against the humans as well by progressing through the game.

Graphics
Compared to the previous installment, the graphics aren't too much enhanced that what the first game presented. The graphics look more smoother but still show that blocky-unfinished appearance when vehicles and buildings that appear in the distance start to load up on screen. The buildings have more detail and clarity compared to the first installment, especially the landmarks the game presents to the player. Crypto himself appears to look more of a realistic alien and has a lighter texture to him. The color of Crypto also seems to have been changed to a more grayish color than green. The plants, trees, and other pieces of environment have had drastic changes to them such as the various sizes of the environment as well as the types of weather that brings the lighting of the area either darker or lighter. The civilians that walk around the city also haven't much of a change other than the outfits to fit the setting. The mouths of them when speaking aren't fluent compared to the cut-scenes which have more fluency. Overall, the game doesn't have too many drastic changes but have had a lot of minor things changed that players wouldn't really notice.

Controls
The controls aren't much of a difference really compared to the first installment. The movement and camera controls are the same buttons and movement functions. Most of the functions for operating the UFO are the same as well except for when switching weapons and activating the cloaking mechanism for the UFO. The combos for both the UFO and the character are somewhat different but requires the same button to hold but pressing different buttons to perform an action. Overall. the controls are nothing new to players that had previously played the first installment but for new players to the series, the controls do have their difficulties and sensitivity.

Rating
Gameplay: 9.2/10
Graphics: 9.1/10
Controls: 8.8/10
Overall: 9.1/10

Craigyy is right. But that spam lead me back to my childhood... ahh... right in the feels. Nice review Brigand, you've done a good job. Your descriptions bought the game all back to me and now i just want the game on Xbox One or something. Just imagine a Destroy all Humans game which played like GTA.
