Info
Title: Lord of the Rings: War in the North
Genre: Action, RPG
Developer: Snowblind Studios
Publisher: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
Release Date: 25 Nov 2011

Synopsis
The Lord of the Rings: War in the North is a co-op Action RPG that immerses you and your friends in a brutal new chapter in the War of the Ring. Snowblind Studios is in the unique position of drawing inspiration from both the literary and film rights to world of Middle-earth, allowing players to bloody their axes on a wide range of deadly enemies and traverse both established and never-before-seen locations. The result is a journey that is both epic and intimate, familiar yet unexpected.

Gameplay
The gameplay was very surprising to me, as I never liked the film series so for that reason i was very skeptical about playing the games. But to my surprise it is actually very fun and entertaining to play. The scripts are very bad in the game but that is expected in a cheap title. I found this game very easy to play even though the controls are very weird, but more on that later. While most of the attention and focus has been placed over the journey of the Ring, the assault on Middle earth hits all corners of the map. This is your own effort to forage a way through the dark, dangerous, and unknown landscape, defending all that is yours. This is your war.

Graphics
The graphics are spectacular with brilliant rich tones which are very pleasing on the eye. The transitions between light and dark are as smooth as anything, you cannot fault them at all. The detail of the characters are brilliant with great textures all round. The terrain quality is fantastic with real to life color tones along with the active background. Things falling along with thunder storms, ect. The detail on the building are the best part as the textures used are really top quality. You really cannot ask for more within this title, very well done, exceeded my expectations by a mile.

Controls
While not having to change any, they were relatively hard to grasp for me, now I'm used to playing 3rd person games but these were a bit weird. Nothing major though I picked the up within minutes just the initial step was tricky. Playing 3rd person games is always harder on a mouse and keyboard, but once i found the controls alright, it was perfect. Nothing I'd change now about them. Nice job.

This is my most favorite game that I have played recently. Very challenging, but in a good way. I have beat it on Legendary 4 times already.

I would agree with you, it's very challenging, but in a way that makes you want to play more not rage quit. I play it on Xbox and it's an absolutely amazing game.
