Synopsis:

Dead Island takes place on the fictional island of Banoi; a lush, tropical resort destination located off the coast of Papua New Guinea. The night after a high-profile party, the four main characters (hereafter referred to as "the survivors"); rapper Sam B., hotel receptionist and spy for the Chinese government Xian Mei, former football-star Logan Carter, and ex police officer Purnaare awakened by a voice over the emergency intercom system directing them to evacuate the hotel. They discover that the majority of the population have been overcome by a contagious and infectious disease, turning them into psychotic, flesh-eating creatures. Briefly overcome by one of the infected, they are rescued by lifeguard John Sinamoi. Apparently immune from infection, and with "The Voice" out of contact, the survivors are tasked by Sinamoi to try and find supplies and contact the outside world. As it becomes obvious that the resort lacks enough supplies to survive for long, Sinamoi instead has them travel to the city of Moresby to find help. The survivors take along Jin, the daughter of the infected mechanic who modifies an armored car they use to break out of the resort.

Upon arriving in Moresby, the survivors aid a holdout at a barricaded church. Directed first to the wealthier sections of town, they ultimately raid a supermarket under the control of "Raskol" gangs, then rescue Jin after she tries to offer supplies to another Raskol faction in the abandoned police station. Upon their return to the resort, the survivors make contact with "The Voice"; he identifies himself as Colonel Ryder White, a Banoi Island Defense Force (BIDF) commander, currently trapped in a high-security prison located on a remote island, only accessible through the jungle. He states that due to the characters' immunity, he may be able to create a cure / vaccine, and in turn save his infected wife. White directs the survivors into the jungles of Banoi having them find a smuggler named Mowen who can reach the prison.

Mowen stonewalls the survivors on the prison, but does take them to a laboratory studying the infection. The researchers there determine the zombie infection is a mutation of Kuru that originated from the indigenous population. At their behest, the survivors collect a tissue sample from a mummy to better examine the pre-mutation form of Kuru and rescue a native woman, Yerema, who was about to be sacrificed by her tribe.
Mowen finally agrees to take the survivors to the prison. After the survivors complete the preparations he and Jin request, they hurry back to the lab when The Voice reports something has gone wrong; they find the infected the scientists were studying were accidentally released, with only Yerema still alive. Rescuing Yerema and retrieving what appears to be a prototype vaccine, the survivors proceed to the prison island.
The survivors initially help the surviving prisoners to arm themselves in exchange for reaching White, but when White finally contacts them again he urges them to abandon the prisoners and proceed to him. The prisoners' holdout eventually falls, and Mowen dies helping Jin and Yerema escape the zombies. As the survivors are about to reach White, however, they are hit with a knockout gas. Awoken by a technology-savvy prisoner named Kevin, they find that White has stolen the vaccine and are warned that, with it in his possession, he intends to flee with his wife and call in a nuclear strike to purge the island.

Racing to the roof helipad, the survivors find themselves held by White at gunpoint. Jin, disgusted by White's plan, releases White's now-zombified wife from her restraints, and she bites White. White shoots Jin dead, then injects himself with the vaccine, only for it to accelerate and amplify his own mutation. The survivors kill White, then escape with his helicopter as Kevin intones that things will never be the same.

Single Player:
Single player gameplay is enjoyable with the ability to explore to an extent and enjoy the scenery, not much about the single-player gameplay to review upon other than an the it is a fun easy at most parts campaign with zombies that level when you do and weapons filled with kick-butt power

Multiplayer:
the multiplayer in this game is quite different then the multiplayer found in most games, instead of a game change where you can run around and kill other people in the world over and over again (credit given to COD and Halo) in this game multiplayer is basicly playing singleplayer campaign with a friend by your side to slay zombies with and finish quests

The graphics in this game is OK but there are a few low resolution parts and it may take a while for some parts to render but overall the graphics can be highly detailed like the blood detail and more small details such as a few of the weapons

Controls:
the controls take a little bit of getting used to as they are original and not as easy to use as the other games, such as getting used to pressing LB to change weapons instead of the common Y button.

Interesting Facts:

Some interesting facts about this game is that it can be a little more realistic here and there with stamina so that you can only swing your weapon and sprint for a certain amount of time until your person gets tired and must wait to rebuild your stamina, but then there is the interesting part about it that is just like how unreal it is like finding $3584 in the trash can or finding magnets in the phone and bleach in the copying machine

NBA JAM: OFE

Game Details

Release Date: October 4th, 2011
Developer: EA Canada
Publisher: EA Sports
Platforms: Xbox 360, Playstation 3
Genre: Sports
Players: Single player, and Multiplayer
Rating: (ESRB) E for Everyone

Synopsis

EA SPORTS is bringing back the classic, most beloved arcade basketball game ever, NBA JAM. Originally made by Midway back in 1993 for video arcades, NBA JAM was a humongous hit, with exciting, over-the-top, cartoony 2-on-2 basketball action that defied both traditional basketball rules as well as the laws of gravity and physics. It was the basketball game for people who didn't like, or even know how to play basketball.

Gameplay

NBA JAM: OFE is a classic 2v2 basketball game that doesn't have any violations except goaltending and a 24 second shot clock. That means no fouls, free throws, offensive three seconds or any other violation you can think of. What makes NBA JAM: OFE different from the other NBA JAM's is that you can catch fire which increases your players shooting ability, allows the player to goaltend, and the player has unlimited turbo, until the other team scores. NBA JAM: OFE is always jam packed with lots of fun whether you're playing by yourself or with a friend! You can take on AI controlled players from other teams in Road Trip as you make your way around each NBA conference, play a Jam Now game to play 2v2 with yourself and 3 of your friends, or you can challenge people in Online Arena to try and earn cool medals! That's not it, after playing games or completing in-game challenges you earn jambucks. You can spend your hard earned jambucks to customize your playercard, buy legends, buy privileges to use such as cool basketballs and court themes like disco, or even buy any of the special 32 teams available. Whether you're throwing down alley-oops, swishing threes, or even dunking on someone, NBA JAM: OFE will keep you on the edge of your seat with its intense fast-action gameplay!

Graphics

The graphics are nothing short of great. The players look just like they do and the court designs are flawless. They may not be Call of Duty graphics but EA did one hell of a job, especially for an arcade game.

Controls

The controls are extremely simple. After about 2-3 games, you will have the controls mastered and memorized. Although blocking an opponents shot and shoving someone do take time to get good at.

Personal Rating

Gameplay: 9/10
Graphics: 8.5/10
Controls: 10/10

Castle Storm

Castlestorm, developed by Zen Studios and published by Microsoft on the Xbox Live Arcade, is a new favorite hit, all for the amazing price of just 800 Microsoft points. Castle Storm is a medieval strategy game, where you can either play survival, castle 1v1, campaign, or last stand game modes. For 800 points, the game is well worth the buy.

Gameplay
Castlestorm's 1v1 mode gameplay is very similar to the flash game: Age of War, but adds a whole bunch of elements. The ways to win this game mode, however, is to either destroy the enemies castle, or to steal their flags with troops you can spawn.

The Last Stand and Survival game mode are very similar, and can get extremely difficult. These are only recommended you play with friends or online, as these can get quite repetitive and boring. These game modes are pleasing, but are also frustrating and only seen to me as a way to get in game currency, to make new castles.

The Campaign is repetitive aswell, but they add in new elements to make each level more difficult. I highly suggest you play the campaign, but don't play every level in a day. It is much more fun when you do that.

Overall, the gameplay is very competitive and very fun, especially with friends, and the mini games add a little aspect of having more than one thing to do. The gameplay on this game I give a 9/10.

Graphics
The graphics in Castlestorm are fairly good. It is based like terraria where everything is 2d, but the details are very fine. Defiantly gives a cartoony feel, but a simplistic one aswell. Overall, graphics are 7/10

Sounds and dialogues
The sounds and dialogues are unique, however some sounds are used multiple times. The development team should have spent a bit more time on this. However the soundtrack is epic. Rating: 6/10

Controls
The controls on this can be a bit tricky, it makes it very hard to switch between making troops, and firing your Batista. It might take a bit to get used to the fact that a fires the balista, and x spawns troops. Rating: 7/10

Story
This game does not have a story or plot, seeing it as a sort of tower defence/ strategy game.

Conclusion
Castlestorm is a great game to play online and with friends! With almost no bugs, and a whole bunch of game modes, it has something you can always do. But don't play for too long, it gets extremely repetitive!

Gameplay: 9/10
Graphics: 7/10
Sounds and Dialogues: 6/10
Controls: 7/10

The Last of Us

Game Information
Name: The Last of Us
Genre: Third-person shooter
Release Date: June 14, 2013
Developer: Naughty Dog Software
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment
Age rating: 17+
Modes: Single-player, Multi-player
Console: PS3

Plot

Twenty years after a pandemic radically transformed known civilization, infected humans run amuck and survivors kill one another for sustenance and weapons - literally whatever they can get their hands on. Joel, a salty survivor, is hired to smuggle a fourteen-year-old girl, Ellie, out of a rough military quarantine, but what begins as a simple job quickly turns into a brutal journey across the country.

Gameplay

If you don't own a PS3 I would buy one just for this game alone its the best (PS3) game this generation has to offer. The graphics are superb beyond anything I have seen so far on PS3 the story is gripping and intense it really draws you in from start to finish, the characters are believable and the voice acting is amazing a lot of hard work has gone into this game and you can tell. The only thing I can find pick fault at is the girl Ellie that accompany's you through the whole game can block the way for you if your wanting to go through a door or up stairs est. Also the multi-player isn't bad but the single player is big and long enough so the multi-player doesn't really matter. All in all The Last Of Us is a great game i just hope its not The Last we hear of them.

Graphics

The graphics are amazing, this game has some of the most detailed characters/monsters/environments that I have ever seen on PS3. The graphics definitely enhance the gameplay.

Ratings (Personal)

Halo Wars Review

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o295/budhijulie/Halo_Wars.jpg

Game Details

Name: Halo Wars
Genre: Strategy
Release Date: March 3rd 2009
Developer: Ensemble Studios
Publisher: Microsoft Game Studios
Age Rating: T for Teen
Modes: Coop Campaign, Single-Player, Multi-Player
Console: Xbox 360

Plot Of The Game

Game takes place in a science fictional Universe of the halo series. The year is 2525 and your in the 26th Century. A group of beings called the Covenant attacked humanity which they claimed the humans a insult to there gods. 6 years after the TOA [Time of Attack] a group of humans called UNSC are still at war with these beings.

Gameplay

The Gameplay is simply amazing its not a as my mother would call it a shootem up bang bang type of game its like your obama or which ever president suits you sending forces to take over the land you are on. When the game starts off in Multi-Player your on a field which you need to obtain to start off your base once you obtain it you can start building building. The buildings include anything from a barracks to a temple. The gameplay is unique because the sides are so different on the USNC you build modern day infantry if modern day was the year 2525 while the opposing side builds UFO'S No not the little flying circle in the sky that abducts cows you can have Banchies to vampires which are air crafts to tanks just alien tanks ;).

Graphics

The Graphics are ok there not 1080 graphics but when you account on the things that are in the game the the force fields and the laser beams its very decent on a scale i would give it a 7/10.

Controls

The Controls are great you don't have to change the setting to be comfortable all your doing is hitting A and using the analog mostly all game not hard at all. There Great for a lazy sun of a gun like meh ;).

(1)The Empire of Tamriel is on the edge. The High King of Skyrim has been murdered. Alliances form as claims to the throne are made. In the midst of this conflict, a far more dangerous, ancient evil is awakened. Dragons, long lost to the passages of the Elder Scrolls, have returned to Tamriel. The future of Skyrim, even the Empire itself, hangs in the balance as they wait for the prophesized Dragonborn to come; a hero born with the power of The Voice, and the only one who can stand amongst the dragons.

The story in Skyrim is quite unique compared to the other Elder Scrolls games. We encounter very new people, abilites, items, and creatures. The concept of the Dragonborn fighting off the dragon "invasion" was great. With the new creatures, such as dragons, this Elder Scrolls game has a completely different feel than what you are used to if you played Morrowind or Oblivion. The replayability to me, is quite high.

Despite being only single-player, Skyrim has very good gameplay. There is a lot of action, and you feel like you can control it. I say that because you can control the action. You control everything and anything you do. That is why they call it "Open World" or a " Sandbox" game. If you want to continue the hunt for the dragons, go ahead, but if you want to sneak into the tavern and assassinate an off-duty town guard, be my guest.

The graphics in this game are phenominal. Skyrim uses Bethesda's brand new Creation Engine. With their new engine, they say they will be making the most immersive game to date.

The controls are quite traditional compared to other Elder Scrolls, minus a few new features. Such as: Dual Wielding, Sprinting, Shouting, and much more.

Skyrim has been a game I have anticipated for a long time. It did not let me down. I would put Skyrim in my top ten favorite games(with Oblivion and Fallout 3 of course). If you havent played it yet I encourage you to do so. It contains thousands of hours of action packed adventures just waiting for you.
Have Fun!

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (Xbox review)

Release Date: July 15, 2003(Xbox), November 19, 2003 (PC)
Developers: BioWare
Publishers: LucasArts
Platforms: Xbox, PC
Genre: Single Player Role Playing Game
Rating: T-teen

Synopsis: (Wikipedia)
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KotOR) is a role-playing video game developed by BioWare and published by LucasArts. Written by Drew Karpyshyn, the soundtrack for the game was composed by Jeremy Soule. It was released for the Xbox on July 15, 2003, for Microsoft Windows on November 19, 2003, The Xbox version is playable on Xbox 360 with its Backward Compatibility feature

Story:
The story in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (abbreviated Kotor for this review) is that of a good novel, honestly. From the moment you start playing the game and meet the first character, the story begins to slowly reveal itself to you. It immediately grabs at your attention. Placing you in the middle of the Jedi Civil War, you are on a ship that is suddenly ambushed. You must fight through the shit to make it to the escape pods and take solace on the planet below. Once there, you have to gather a few comrades and make your way off of the planet. With this brief intro you can see that the story you will experience is easily action packed. This will appeal to many gamers. However, the story is much more than that given that you have morale choices to make throughout the game, which affect how certain characters feel about. As well, this affects the ending you receive. All of that with a few twists thrown in for good measure and interest keeps you begging for more.
I give the story a 9/10

Game play:
Kotors game play follows that of many older RPGs. There is a simple action setup that goes for combat and normal travel. All that will really change are some of the options given. The leveling system is set up for convenience. You are given the options of auto level up or manual level up (applies to your character and your party) Also, experience is shared throughout the entire party, meaning that any time 250xp is rewarded to a single character, each and every other character is also rewarded 250xp. The inventory is set up for easy navigation. As well, there is no limit to how much you can carry. This allows you to hoard as much loot as you want and keep it just because, or you can sell all of it at once to make a tidy profit. As mentioned earlier, you are given a sort of moral compass. Your actions will affect your alignment (light or dark) as well as your appearance to a certain degree. Also, depending on your actions, you may be able to trigger certain romantic dialogue with certain characters (gender also affects who you can trigger these events with.) Combat generally runs smoothly. I have encountered issues in combat while playing this game on the Xbox 360. Often the game lags very badly, hindering your ability to take action and react. I have not encountered this problem while playing on the original Xbox though. You are able to create your own character with a bit of freedom for class, face, nationality, and name choice. You are also able to visit planets freely, meaning you can leave a planet and finish your business on it later.

Controls:
The controls for Kotor are very simple. You are given an action bar which is what you will use for all of your in-game actions (outside of dialogue.) Everything runs very smoothly in the case of execution. Commands are undertaken immediately. Navigation of the menus is made very simple. All in all, the controls are simple and easy to handle. Any gamer should get used to them in about 45 minutes.

Graphics:
The graphics are very good, given the fact that the game was released in 2003. The majority of textures are fairly detailed (nothing like today) though surfaces are often very simple and plain. Armor, characters, etc. seem to have the most amount of detail put into them. The ship you travel in, however, is the biggest exception to the surface detail explained above. There are no overly noticeable clipping issues, save if you are standing next to a wall with larger melee weapons equipped (they seem to go right through.) Given the time though, Id have to say that I am impressed with how well the graphics look. There is nothing really impressive about the graphics that any gamer will really notice.

Rating: 8.5/10
While the issue with combat detracts from the overall score of the game, I will say that if you play on the original Xbox you should be fine. Everything taken into account this is a good game. I encourage anyone who gets that chance to play it.
