Synopsis:

You've just unearthed the classic post-apocalyptic role-playing game that revitalized the entire CRPG genre. The Fallout SPECIAL system allows drastically different types of characters, meaningful decisions and development that puts you in complete control. Explore the devastated ruins of a golden age civilization.

Story:

The Protagonist in this game is a citizen of a Nuclear Fallout Shelter also known as a vault. and throughout this and all other fallout games he/she is to be known to players as a Vault Dweller. Our story of Fallout: A post Nuclear Role Playing Game begins in Southern California In Vault 13. Which is to be known in this game as the home of our Hero in this game. To begin this adventure you are asked by the Vault 13 Overseer to go out into the wasteland and find a replacement water chip for vault 13. To those who never played fallout a water chip is basically what keep water clean and fresh in these vaults. But you are given 150 days to find this water chip or you will lose the game!. but during the game there are ways in which you can extend this time period so you can continuing try and attempt to find the water chip and the overseer also Gives you "your very own Pipboy 2000!". But at most the play can earn up to 500 days or if drastic measures are taken 13 years can be given to our hero to save the day! if you fail Mutants will raid the vault causing a cut scene to occur which sadly means you have lost the game. But If you sucssefully return with the water chip youll be given a new task. To destroy the mutant army of "The Master" who threatens the existince of humanity with a F.E.V or a "Forced Evolutionary Device". The player must attempt to destory the base housing the mutants to Halt the invasion of the mutants. Now there are 2 endings to this game but these will not be disclosed upon yall as it will ruin the game. But to those of you who have played fallout 3. one of these endings will correspond with a secret fallout 3 quest . But to learn these endings you must beat the game :wat: and like All other fallout games endings are dependent on KARMA! ;)

Gameplay:

The gameplay in my eyes is just plain out awesome! The best time to play this game are in the afternoon or at night when your bored and cant sleep. the gameplay will give you countless hours of fun interactive gameplay like all other fallout games. Gameplay will probably be the best for those who loved fallout as this game explains many of the mysteries in fallout 3 Example: The FEV Virus and water chips. and especially the Returning to vault 101 quest comes from a quest on this game . Fallout Single player gameplay is probably the best ive ever seen and i would recommend it to anybody i ran into. this game will keep you entertained for hours as long as you find ways to extend your period of time to complete the main story line. Then end gameplay will be a shocker to most people who dont ruin it for them selves. another + about the gameplay is "How you play is how it becomes" which basically means as you play the game adapts to you and your karma ;). and also if you can complete the complicating task. The gameplay for Fallout: A post nuclear role-playing game is at most time very complicating even if you know what your doing.

Graphics:

you must rember that this game is from 1997 so the ghrapics arnt like the ones we have in current games today. But as far as this game goes i would say these are the best ghrapics ive seen in a game from this time period. now like most rpg games the ghrapics can start glitching and make your playing experince sucked. but that is beacuse this is a old game and newer computers have problems running it. when i say that i mean if your using the windows 98 game on your windows 7 computer. now if you want the ghrapics to be fine and not glitching all the time with a new computer then i would recommend purchasing this game off of steam. now to wrap this ghrapics section up. i would have to say the ghrapics could be better but they are excellent for a old game like this and they are actually better than some games we have today. =)

Controls:

The controls are not advanced and also not simple. in this game you use the mouse to control what your character does. so about 75-85% of the controls and features are used or accesed with the mouse and not the keyboard like some games to day. the controls will take some getting use to at first but once you learn them youll become a pro. Well this wraps up the control part of this review. mainly because this game is controlled by clicking buttons and other material through a interface at the bottom of the screen or click the ground to walk.

Interesting Facts for Fallout:

A Post nuclear role playing game: There are several easter eggs in the game, to many to name to be exact but to name a few you got a dialouge from one of the characters saying "Let's play Global Thermo-Nuclear War!", which makes a refference to a alltime favorite movie for me. the 1983 Film WarGames. There is also a chrashed alien space ship marked: property of area 51. with 2 dead aliens near it. in which one of the contains a photo of elvis presly :wat: . Now there are alot more intersting facts about this game but you can all figure those out but let me give you one more fact. This game was built upon a 3 million dollar budget. so to those of you out there who know how much games cost to make there you go. this game to me had a decent sized budget.

Story Line Rating: 10/10
Gameplay: 8.2/10
Ghrapics: 7.1/10
Controls: 9.5/10
Overall Rating: 9.2/10

Should you buy this game: Hell yes!!!!!!
Recommnedations on where to buy it?
I would recommend buying it from steam since its only 9.99$ but untill july 23rd its only 4.99! Or you can buy the original Fallout Collection of Fallout: A post nuclear role playing game, Fallout 2: A post nuclear Role playing game, and Fallout: brotherhood tactics for only 9.99$ FOR ALL OF THEM! So i would have to say to all the fallout fans this is a definite buy for you! especially the ones who loved Fallout 3.

I would like ttg for allowing me to post this and i hope to post more Reviews soon.
Scincerely,

Very Nice review, I've been looking around for places to buy this game and was contemplating on buying the game to see how the Fallout series all started out and how it progressed up to Fallout 3. I may have to go out and buy the game now.
Keep up the work mate!

Beautiful review, I was in love with F1,F2 and F3. F3 was so good. The base game itself was great and then they came out with great DLC's as well. How ever i was a little disappointed with F-NV, don't get me wrong it was a good game as-well but I think they fell short on holding up too F3's content and story. Hopefully the next one will be just like 3!

Yeah for sure, i re-played 3 like 5 times every time was different way of playing I loved it. I could only play Vegas twice over and on the second run i barely finished it over. I'm really hoping it will run in with 3's story as well
