They're OK, but there are much better options, especially for what you want.

If you're looking for something bassy and portable, check out the V-Moda LP. Neutral and not so portable, Sony MDR-V6. Neutral and portable, Koss DJ100.

On this topic, you GET advice, not give it. I say this because the advice other people give almost always ends ends up being poor, like this. Don't do this.

Actually, Atomic Floyd isn't a horrible audio company. I read their SuperDarts resemble the Grado GR9 (or something like that) sound because they have a moving armature, which means the stuff the company makes is probably a step up from Skullcandies and such. But those are still incredibly high priced for what's basically a gamble; for the price converted, you can get a Triple.fi 10.

Not that I'd know how they are, since they totally ignored my request to review some of their IEM's. Jerks. Even Fanny Wang's sending me more stuff, and I wasn't exactly nice in my On Ear review.

(PS, I just bought a K181DJ, so that's fun.)

I did some quick research on them before I posted and found the same thing to be true. It seems like another instance of "they're good, but not for the price." I only recommend headphones that are good for the price because I see buying things like that as just throwing away money.

Oooooo that sounds fun. They look awfully uncomfortable, is this true?

The V-Moda LP, AKG K181DJ, and Philips Citiscape Downtown are some you should take a look at. If you want an IEM, check out the guide. There are quite a few good options.

Nice, but remember they're not really made to have a fun sound. They're monitor headphones and the quality for the price is incredible. If you like a lot of bass, you'd be better off with the LP.

For electronic, the Ultrasone Pro 900 is fantastic. Unfortunately, it's frequently out of stock where it's available for the best price.

Sign up for a notification email, that's how I was able to score my friend a pair. $330 is byfar the best price I've seen, and the only price I'd pay.

You could also save a little money and get the V-Moda LP2 or the Audio Technica Pro 700 MkII, which will actually isolate better than the Pro 900.

Don't tell me turtlebeaches, I've had a pair of X31s for forever, I've had to replace several parts and the total price after 1 year I've spent $150 on a headset when I purchased it it was advertised as $90. $60 to replace parts multiple times? No thanks.

Koss KSC75 and a Zalman ZM-1 clip mic. Yes, really. I'm also assuming you have the ability to connect these to whatever you'll be using them with. Keep in mind these will wipe the floor with "gaemin" headsets that are priced much higher.

The parts I currently own for my turtle beaches are broken, so what parts would I need to be able to hear sound? Much appreciated! [$25 for a headset that would be a replacement for Turtle beach X31s? I'm surprised.]

I'll find out when I get them! They only cost me $28, so even if they aren't comfy, no big deal. Plus, my K271/K240 pads fit them apparently.

And to the above, it's not worth buying anything new, but if you just need to solder a new plug (only one side works), you might as well, I guess.

A KSC75 would actually be a bit better than the X31's sadly enough. IF you want something that's a bit nicer, you can get the JVC RX700 for under $50, or Audio Technica AD700 for under $100.

Quite good actually. It's actually kind of a toss up between the Koss and the Sony, since they have somewhat similar sound signatures (not really, but closer than most would assume considering they're completely different brands). I'd take the Koss over the Sony for your genres, but the Sony is going to be a lot more sturdy, which is probably more important at this point, since you won't really miss the difference. The Kosses aren't exactly fragile, but the V6's could probably get run over by a car and not break.
