Right now I'm in the early stages of building a gaming PC. I've been researching and compiling a list of possible components and peices, all while trying to decide on a budget. At the moment I am trying to keep it all under $1500, not including monitor, OS, and other extras/peripherals. If it makes a difference, my choice games are ARMA, WoW, and some Skyrim.

I'm coming to you guys to get some opinions on current parts I am thinking of going with.

CPU:
As of now, I have my eye on an AMD Ryzen 5 1600. I really have no prior experience with AMD vs Intel. Any info I get get on the different types of CPU would be awesome.

GPU:
I am looking at the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 for my graphics card. From what I have read, it is top of the line. For my first build, is this the right way to go? I know this item comes with a heavy price tag, is there something close that I can go with to help stay in the budget without having to sacrifice somewhere else?

MOBO:
ASUS Rog Strix X470-F. Once again, I don't really know much. I went with this because of its style and ability to take an AMD processor. I do not believe this motherboard has built in WiFi, is that a must? Is there something else I should look at?

____________________________

These three items are going to guide the build. I can work off of these three and go down another path if I must.
If the people are interested and need more information, I can go more in-depth with my desires and current part list.

Thanks a bunch ahead of time, and hopefully I'll be back on a new computer soon

No need to get a 1080 to play those games really, none of them are majorly GPU intense, potentially a heavily modded version of Skyrim but even then its a 7 year old game even with mods its still not going to be majorly GPU intense.

Wi-Fi card on a motherboard isn't a must, if you want one they are fairly cheap to just buy and easy to install.

What other parts do you have on the list as of now? Because an SSD is a must really when you have a large budget like yourself.

Getting a good case is important too for cooling.

Alright, well decide on your monitor first because you don't need anywhere near a GTX 1080 to play these games at 1080p60Hz.

You can't really go wrong with any R5 or i5 CPU to be honest, but if you're only gaming and especially if you're not overclocking, I'd recommend an i5-8400 or something instead of Ryzen.

No, 1080Ti is technically "top of the line" if we're talking about logical consumer cards.

No idea, we don't know what monitor(s) you're using.

We can't answer this for you, only you know if you require a wireless connection. However, you can buy PCIe wireless adapters, so you can add it later if you buy a motherboard without wi-fi.

Thanks a bunch for the info.

As far as SSD goes, I'm looking at the Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5''. I would also like to include one for non essentials, possibly a Samsung 500gb 2.5''. And as far as RAM, I am considering G.Skill Trident RGB 16gb (2x8gb)

Case wise, I haven't really set my mind on one. I'm looking for something more on the minimalistic side. Some fans, not too much color. I know I like the tempered glass look. Currently looking at the Phanteks Eclipse P300

Everything else part wise is floating atm. There has been some word learning towards intel rather than ryzen. So that could change things up.
