Unfortunately another one of these tragedies here in america. This really
needs to come to an end already its so sad. There are so many precautions and such that can be done to prevent this and nothing is progressing at all. Anyways whats your take on this? So far there has been 8 casualties.

Just read about this, was gonna post it but you beat me.

I think this is sad as hell, plain and simple.
These situations are so messed up and we need to figure out why they are happening.
Annoyed that'll I'll be seeing tons of stuff about gun control soon, as if fun control is the problem.

Clearly there is a mental health issue somewhere. People shouldn't be thinking "hey you know what I'm gonna shoot up my school today", let alone planning it out.

America seems to be in a huge rough patch recently. Hopefully things change for the better in the future. I couldn't imagine raising a child right now.

It's a terrible situation,

Not really much to say about the gun part, I'm not a fan of them but that's the way America is and I don't live there so my opinion isn't really valid.

Seen a lot of people try to push the arming teachers idea, which to me is definately not the way forward.

You (conservatives) don't get to pretend to care about mental health over gun control and then gut mental health funding by $665 million in the 2019 budget.

Did he say anything about wanting to defund mental health care? No he did not. Just because some conservatives decided that they were going to defund mental health care, does not mean that all conservatives want to defund mental health funding. And besides, you do not know how Maze politically identifies.

Why did you even post on this topic? You did not add anything to the original post, you did not provide an update of the situtation, you did not give your opinion on the subject. All you did was make a derogatory comment about Maze. There was no reason for you to even post.

It's actually one of the funniest things in the world. I would identify much more as a liberal. I'm from California, probably the most liberal place in the world. I've had liberal ideas thrown at me since elementary school.

I literally said there was a mental health issue, why the hell would I support defunding mental health programs.

The suspect in custody has been identified as Dimitrios Pagourtzis, 17-year-old student of the high school and was a player of the Santa Fe High School junior varsity football team and is a member of a dance squad with a local Greek Orthodox church.

He used a shotgun and a .38-caliber revolver owned by his father, it is unknown at this time if the father knew that the weapons were misplaced.

The teen had also created "pipe bombs" and had thrown them into classrooms, they did not detonate.

It's crazy. But it is going to happen. We hear about it, send our prayers, move on, and repeat. That is just the sad reality. I don't think there is a real 100 percent way to stop this. Gun control wont do anything because you can buy guns illegally. Better mental health care and taking bullying seriously can help try to prevent it, but i don't know if that will work 100 percent either. Because at the end of the day, if someone really wants to cause harm to someone they will do it. I think the best way to prevent this from happening is to have more resource officers at schools, maybe a better way to detect signs, better security. But none of that will actually get into the mind of the shooter and make him change his mind, it will just prevent the loss of life.

Imagine a United States without an unhealthy and overly-obsessive gun fetish.
