Hi Guys,

I've just bought a new car and I'm
Looking to install a dash cam, I've seen a few cheap options but all seem to come with terrible charge levels and huge long cables that just get in the way.

Has anyone got any suggestions for a good dash cam?

Cheers

I use this camera

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Very good quality and i was able to wire it to my fuse box.

i ran the cables above the roof lining then down the door pillar.

I would deffo recommend it, you have an app on your phone which connects to the dashcams wifi and you can see footage and take pictures etc. there are other features too etc.

I use the Viofo A119.

It uses a sticky mount and is very small so it's not in the way. I actually put it on the passenger side of the rear view and I can't see it from the drivers side. I like long wires because I routed it through the headliner, down the pillar, through the dash, then into the 12v.

The A119 isn't too bad price wise but it's kinda pricey. The quality is AMAZING, the only issue I have so far is I can't take it down and replay a video to show a cop exactly what happened at that moment. I have to download everything onto my computer.

Long wires is a good thing, means you can wire it so you can't even see the wires lol. Cheap ones aren't always a bad thing. Pick up one from your local auto parts store. Fairly cheap around $50.

Longer the wires, the easier it will be to conceal and not limited to one spot on the dash.

I'd check Amazon. I can't think of any retail stores that sell them. I'm located in Canada and dash cams aren't really popular here.

In Southern Ontario anyhow. Good luck on the search.
