I've been having terrible lag playing BF1, to the point I can't even play the game. ive tried messing with almost all settings, looked online for suggestions, nothing worked. Starting to think my processor is just too weak? With games like GTA,r6s the pc handles great. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to use this build until I'm back home in April where my main pc is.

Specs - i5 7400, 8gb ddr4 ram, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3gb,

If anyone has any suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Is your CPU, RAM, and/or GPU usage maxed or very high? Have you tried turning Vsync off? By "lag," do you mean stuttering, low FPS, tearing, or network lag? Do you have an SSD?

GPU usage gets very high, at around 80 percent. CPU is being maxed playing conquest in bf1. I have tried turning vsync off.
I mean very low fps, and stuttering with any movements.

The problem is the game, not your system.

If I had BF1, I could probably tell you exactly what to do because we have similar specs. People are suggesting changing in-game settings like turning off Vsync, DX12, and GPU memory restriction and adding a user.cfg file to the game folder to change render settings.

I suggest searching with Google for threads like this with "potential solutions" and see what works.
