2018 wrote [align=center]I dont understand this and never will.. Alot of people hate police.. When I say hate, I mean they HATE police.. wish they were never here..

I know what you are talking about. The hood rats who feel entitled to everything and do not respect anyone? I live in a semi-decent area. Its not the ghetto, but every now and then things happen.

I have a love/hate relationship with police. They serve a purpose. But for the most part, they are just as bad as any street gang. I have not had any bad interactions with police, but every time that I am around them, I get uneasy. I have to be on the top of my game, or they can twist my actions.

Even when you do everything right, the police still want to go after you. Take a self defense shooting for example. They still try to go after you. You have to be very careful with what you do and what you say.

Take a look at this video. And you should look at a couple of his other videos. He is a cop and explains things from a cops point of view...

Im like if you were in serious trouble you would most likely call them..

That is how the liberal left likes to think. The government wants to restrict our rights and make us think like that. Me personally, my first instinct is not going to be to call the police. Yes I am going to call the cops, but I am not going to depend on them to save me. Take a robbery for example, I am not going to try and lock my self in a bathroom to prevent the robber from getting me while I am calling the police. I am going to try and get a weapon to defend my self and when appropriate, call the police.

Normally, cops don't show up to stop crimes, they show up to take reports. Especially in areas in the middle of no where with a long police response time. I live in a city and the police still take a long time to get to my house. For example, home robberies. Any robber who is half way decent is going to be in and out, they are not going to spend a lot of time in your house. So by the time police show up the crime is normally already done.

But they do show up and take a report. So if and when your stuff is found, they can return it to you.

Where I live police are seen as bad guys and I hate that so much.. Yes there are bad cops out there but for the most part they are nice, hard working people. I love and respect what they do.. I dont understand how people could hate them like that.

At my high school, most of the police are nice, and it is a great thing. It is getting the community to trust police more. But we have a few who like to patrol the parking lots, and they are total d***s. Especially at lunch time. I understand that some people are going to do bad things at lunch, but those few peoples actions should not have any affect on me. So because of these people, the cops like to harass students because we are not supposed to be "loitering". I like to sit in my truck and eat lunch while I am waiting for school to start. I can listen to the radio and sit in air conditioning. I am not loitering, I am just waiting for school to start.

Another way that the school likes to try and control students, is by their hat rules. Students are not supposed to where hats in the building and it is totally understandable. But lately they have been selling stickers that allow students to where hats in the building. This shows that they do not care about students wearing hats and just want to control/extort students.

without them there would be very little order in the community

I completely agree. Like I said earlier, I have a love/hate relationship with cops.

Sorry if my comment was all over the place. I just cant think of the right way to say how I feel about the police.

The police and military have my full respect for the most part. They have a very difficult job and not everyone can do what they do. Please do not think that I hate the police with a passion. I am very polite until they give me a reason to not be. Respect is a two way street. If they are nice and respectful, then I will be the same. I really don't hate the police, I just like to be very cautious.

Mikey wrote I can imagine being a cop is one if not the hardest scariest job out there. Every time they leave for work, full well knowing they could get shot, or worse. They do have my respect, and for people hating on the police, are just idiots and dont know what there up against. I understand some cops are trigger happy, especially in the US, but lets be real, 1 in 3 house hold have a gun, i mean if i was a cop, and knowing that i would be edgy asf, and would not give anybody the slightest chance in shooting me. In most cases cops will shoot you if you are not following orders they are giving out, example : ''Take your hands out your pocket'' Like if they didnt do it the first time that tells me they up to something, then they quickly take there hands out fast, but its a phone, but the cop shoots, then everyone now hates the cop for shooting someone with just a phone. But they dont hear the full story, the cop was in fear for his life as the person did not first do as he was told. Its just one of those things, they have to put up with alot of shit. I have full respect for the cops, yes there are some bad cops out there, just like with any other job. Like i read a story before, were a cop was called to a house disturbance, and the person opened the door to the cop but he had a knife in his had. The cop said ''Sir please put down the knife'' and said this a few times and they guy did not follow the cops orders, and he came towards the cop with the knife still in his hand, and the cop shoots him. It did turn out the guy was disabled and was unable to speak. But the cop did not know this, for all the cop knew the guy could have been doped up on drugs. It was just unfortunate of the outcome. But put yourself in the cops shoe, if you told someone to put a knife down and did not do it, then came towards you, what would you do? Me personally i would have shot his knee caps or something, not shoot him dead, but then again in the heat of the moment you dont really have much time to make that call. But now everyone hates the cop, because the media get ahold of what happened and says ''cop shoots innocent disabled man'' you never hear the full story. This is whats so hard about being a cop, making the right calls and staying alive at the same time.

Just responding to the last part. Cops actually aren't supposed to shoot suspects in the leg because one of the biggest arteries is down there, and if a bullet hits the artery or the bone in your leg and a bone fragment punctures that artery it's near immediate death. I think it's like 4-5 minutes to bleed out.

Cops shoot to kill not to injure. They do not shoot to wound. Regardless of the artery, they should not be shooting for you leg. They want the easiest way to stop a threat. It is much easier to hit someone in the chest opposed to the leg.

-Backwoods wrote Tbh. When people say they hate cops in their area is because when they get pulled over or anything they make a racial discrimination against them if they are colored. The cops go on high alert because they think they're gonna get hurt by anyone of them. But when a white dude gets pulled over its a complete different story.

It seems like a lot of people make a big deal out of nothing. For example, a white cop pulls over a black woman because she was speeding. The woman thens decides to play the race card and make the cop feel bad. There is no need for that. The woman was in the wrong and should accept the ticket.

If you truly were not doing anything wrong, and the cop really was racially profiling then I think that is wrong. But it seems like a lot of people try to use the race card to justify their wrong doing and it is pathetic.

The cops around me are exactly like that. Yes there are good cops and yes there are bad cops. The only difference is the cops near me handle the situations way different. I have witness both racial situations. From literally just sitting in my car with friends in a car parked in front of me and cops show up out of everywhere and mfs just start getting thrown because "they thought they heard a girl scream." And there were no girls even around... another situation where I got pulled over by the one of the cops who pulled up to us and it was a complete different attitude.

What does either of those situations have to do with race? You would need to give more detail. The cop was probably just doing his job and things got out of control. For example, someone called and said you looked suspicious or you were loitering. Every situation is different.

Hell, at this point unless you have video of the altercation, I would find what you said very hard to believe.

What I think happened is you and your friends were getting angry and started giving the cop trouble. I have never seen a cop just freak out and starting throwing people around. Normally they would ask for you to step out of the car and would not man-handle you. You must have gotten irate and then things started going south.

The reason people yell **** cops is because they feel they are being dealt unjust. They feel that the government is against them 24/7.

This is the biggest load of bull s*** I have heard in a while. If you are not doing anything wrong, then you should not have anything to fear. If you read my comment, you would now that I dont really like cops and prefer to be cautious around them. But I do not hate them.

Let me guess you think the shooting of Michael Brown was "unjust"? Many of these blm protests are stupid. They pick a dumb case like the Michael Brown case and want to protest about it. The moms and family members will go on tv and tell everyone how their kid was so good and would never cause anyone trouble. And it is insane. If that person was so good then why did he do what he did?

Tbh. People don't do crimes for NO REASON. I can't say their reasons but imagine yourself in that situation. Living in poverty. Can't get a job. Go to government offices to get further to only be set back. You don't have a home. You're living couch to couch. Its a lot deeper than you might think it to be. "I DON'T SEE WHY PEOPLE DO CRIMES..." open your eyes and figure out why then! It's literally not that **** hard.

Obviously people don't do crimes for no reason.

You need to specify what crimes you are talking about.

But there is no excuse for robbing people. Anyone who goes and steals from another person just because their life sucks atm deserves to be in prison. You should not make other peoples life suck just because your life sucks. The same thing applies to other crimes.

Think about this situation. Your living in poverty and want to get out of it. You go and still a car trying to make some money. That is going to drastically affect the owners life.

And then in the situation where the robber gets shot or killed, it seems like all hell let loose. The robbers family wants to sue the owner and try to make it look like the owner was in the wrong and the robber was just trying to better his life. Now you have affected the owner of the vehicle's life even more. It is really pathetic and people who think like you do, need medical treatment.

And this goes back to what I was talking about earlier. You and people who think like you try to justify your wrong doing. You will make up any excuse you can think of just to justify your wrong doing.

Only reason I don't mess with 12 is because they are constantly trying to get kids in trouble. There's about 80 cops for a small town of about 25,000 people. Police in my town just drive around popular spots or hide and target kids.

Id say it really depends on where you are from as police are different in places. They're fine where I live as nothing really happens so they're normally pretty chill on the rare occasion they are around. In other countries such as America I can see why they may be disliked as a lot of things seem to go on there, just an example anyway8

Although some times they can be a bit corrupt they are only doing their job in most occasions and people take things way out of context

I'd say most people who generally don't like cops have a had a personal life expirence that makes them feel this way, it's great that you don't but just because you've had only encounter with the many good cops and not a shitty excuse of a cop, doesn't mean others well feel the same based of their expirences.

Simply obey the orders given and you won't have problems. People say cops are corrupt and all this, but when you see the videos the people are yelling and cussing at the cops and not cooperating. I get it, there's some hard ass cops out there, but not all are that way so don't treat them all that way.

I feel like this is depending on where you live and what social class you are, where I live there is little to no crime rate so I have no problem with dealing with cops because most the time they are just doing there job and so on, now for Chicago the cops are in there every day life putting their friends and family in prison and making themselves look bad.

First of all, I don't think you got the point of my post. Second of all, I'm saying it's not about race but when you see cops being 100% more unjust towards them than others in your neighborhood then maybe you start to see the other point of view.
I'm NOT saying that robbing somebody of their property is okay. I'm saying that if the cops didn't pull them over for any and everything then maybe they would be set out to do more. You need to expand your point of view towards situations envolving cops.
I'm NOT saying you LIKE cops or DON'T like cops. That is your own personal opinion.

On to the point of "you need to specify which crimes..." why would I NEED to specify any crime, I've known people who robbed stores TO FEED THIER OWN F***ING CHILDREN because the cops and government which everybody takes a stand by is putting them down. Not aloud to get food stamps, or any governement help. Not letting them get jobs. Letting the rich get richer and let the poor get more poor. The jobs near them automatically judge them because they can't afford to live anywhere else.

All I'm saying is expand your views on everything. Open your eyes. There will always be rebels.

BTW there is no just for killing somebody. In case you bring that up too.

Some people genuinely do get harassed by police, take for example me.. I've been searched 11 times in my local town and not once have I had or done anything. It's not a big town either.

I still wouldn't hate them, now I feel like it's to do with the environment you're brought up in.
