I'm a Honda guy for now. Just bought a Honda civic touring. I don't like the car you are wanting though. Looks bad in my opinion.

Go for that neon. You know where it's coming from. You know how to drive stick. You're young, the car you have now shouldn't be as big as a deal as people make it. Teenagers are the most likely to get into wrecks. Would you rather pay a crap load for a good car you have at a young age then saving that money if you wreck your crappy car?...
When you have more experience in driving find yourself a nice cruising vehicle like a 2010 Impala or something else you're interested in.
Plus. Cars coming from old people are usual in super good condition and it'seems your relative so hopefully you get a good deal.
Good luck with drivers ed!

I have a 2013 subaru legacy 6speed manual. I really love it, especially being in colorado when it snows, its handy to have that AWD all the time!

I'd aim for something that's both cheap to run and insure. But you should go for something that you like the look of.

I wish you the best of luck with your lessons man, stay safe.
