Hi all,

Well I sold my PC for £400 for those who seen my previous post lol

Anyway I have until January to build a new Gaming PC for myself. I'm debating whether to get an AMD or Intel socket because of the games I want to play. Anyway, I've been playing on a 1080p monitor for all my life and I really want to look into 1440p or even 4k with a better refresh rate which is better than 60Hz lol.

Anyway, I have 2 paydays before I need to the PC to be build, ready for training at the end of January. I don't really have a budget as I'll be buying the parts over the period of time. However, don't exceed anything over £1700 (ex monitor).

Wouldn't mind some LED for that extra FPS lul. Black finish would be mint, NZXT cases look amazing unless someone can advise on something better.

I will be overclocking in the future so an unlocked socket would be great.

Thanks team

£1700 without the monitor. Add a Phanteks LED strip for £20 if you want, and maybe get some cable extensions(£20-25). You could swap the CM H500P for an NZXT H700i but the H700i is ridiculously over priced because of that stupid smart device they include. Nice case apart from the smart device and price. SLI support. Couple of alternative monitors;

RAM is a bitch to find in the UK right now. Just check RAM on the UK PCPP. Look for 1x8GB kits and 2x8GB kits, see what the cheapest 16GB you can find in stock is, but make sure to get 8GB DIMMs, and DDR4 obviously. You shouldn't have to pay more than £160ish for 16GB.

What do you think of this?

Literally the cheapest I can find with a decent clock speed. Goes with the colour scheme as well, didn't know it was that expensive for RAM nowadays!

£190 is a bit much.

Was £140 for 2x8GB not long ago, now it's looking tough to get it below £170. I wish it was still easy to get 16GB RAM for under £75 though:(

Or

I know the second link has better clock speed but still not sure. RAM won't fall in price either I don't think because there's a limited supply of something I think? Cheers mate

Of those two, Vengeance RGB. Not sure I buy the "limited supply" story, because it's been blamed on mobile devices taking all the DDR4 apparently, but DDR4 has been around for years now, and it's not like it was a surprise that mobile devices use it lmfao. I reckon it's just the 3 companies that make RAM artificially increasing prices, and maybe a little bit of an issue with stock, but no way it's so bad that they had to increase price 3 fold. Also, it's been over a year now I think since RAM pricing shot up, and it still hasn't started coming back down in price.

Overall I'm pleased, still need to but a 4TB HDD and GPU lol. Bit gutted the RGBs in the fans aren't working as they should but I've bought a controller hoping this will be resolved. The cleanest build I've done in a long time!

Thanks for the help 13, looks good bro
