Legit question since you are the only person I know that has a Wolf Dog.

Are they as "unpredictable" as people have said? A Wolf Dog was a type of dog I was interested in getting for a hunting and/or guard dog, but a lot of sites I read about them, say how they are like normal puppies when they are young, but once they become mature, they become unpredictable because of them being bred between a domesticated dog and a wolf - at the very least once upon a time bred with an actual wolf. People were saying because of that, they can turn violent at random, won't listen, not good with other pets, ect, simply because of carrying the wolf's instincts.

Is any of that true or are they just like your average 'idiot' doggo?

jealous of the pacman frog though..........

Could go back before kids.

4 other pythons (Desert Enchi, and tiger balls)
5 or 6 blue poison dart frogs (of course it was removed)
2 fire bellied toads
1 imported strawberry dart frog
4 small chameleons (non color adaptive)
7 salamanders (rip that tank after dropping it when moving)
4 red-eared sliders
3 bearded dragons (one adult two babies)
A stray cat that just came along and stayed

Small but still a while off from you i miss having these, but kids + smaller house ended up having to change a lot.

I had grown up around personal protection/ bomb dogs and grown up around trainers so all my dogs are raised the same way for the majority of their life. I have never had an unpredictable dog so long as the relationship between dog and master is clear. The dogs I raised took a long time, years for my Alsatian, to find the perfect dog. All of my labs are registered with the UK Kennel club and the Alsatian was a pup who's parents were trained as Schutzhunds (protection dogs). The Wolf portion of the dog is near nonexistent in the behaviour but more so in looks.

I would never go for a 1st or 2nd generation breed due to the volatility of their temperament. The general rule is never train a dog for "protection or attack" purposes if it cant do the basic commands such as sit, stay, down, no, etc. - which most 1st/2nd gens are unlikely to respond to commands that are more advanced than sit and stay. Most wolf dog generations past 4th or 5th are fine and nothing to worry about from my experience.

I believe the wolf dogs of later generations like mine are great for their purpose but as family dogs they are wasted and under-stimulated. As I mentioned above about dog/ master relationship, if the dog has 2 people telling it what to do then its doomed to fail in my eyes. While I live at home with my mother, Kratos will not leave my side and wont even go out of my house into the garden without me. They are hard work but worth the effort (and money) you put into them.

Most important of all, no two dogs are the same. You could get unlucky and get the runt of the litter or the dog has some mental issues which happens somewhat commonly with cross-breading.
