Not only did he record 1500 strikeouts, he broke the Major League Baseball record.
Former Chicago Cubs pitcher Kerry Wood held the title, achieving 1500 strikeouts in 1300 innings pitched. Sale took the record after achieving 1500 strikeouts in 1290 IP.
Sale for Cy Young.
