1. When I was a couple of years old I had an "imaginary friend" called Jack that I used to sit in the corner of my bedroom and talk to. I'm 20 years old now and a few years ago as we forgot all about it, my Mum went to a spiritualist medium about communicating with my Nan who passed away back in 2012. The woman had no idea who my mum was and had no contact with our family and said this to my mum. "Have you noticed one of your sons talking to an "imaginary friend" when he was very young? Was his name Jack? That boy was once living in that house many years ago" People can call bs all they like but there is no explanation for it other than what the medium told us.

Now I don't expect you to believe me because if you don't, then I don't really give a shit but that's what happened to me and I'll never forget it!

Yes there is. Ever heard of cold reading? Ever looked into mediums who have came out as fakes and explained how they do what they do?
Ever looked into magicians and psychologists who can do exactly what mediums do- sometimes even better than mediums do - without any supernatural abilities?

For instance, a magician in the UK went to the US to try out methods mediums use which he had been learning. He went there undercover as a fake medium and met up with a 'real medium.' She watched him use these methods and said that he was obviously a very gifted medium. Even a medium con-woman, who knows the tricks these people use, was tricked into believing these tricks.

There are plenty of explanations for this if you look for them.

What's your explanation for the rattling bed incident, then? You can't really expose anything anybody says unless you were there yourself to witness it. Oh of course I have heard of them. My mum nor family has had no contact with this woman before and she had no information of my mum prior to her visit, it was an open visit at this woman's address. Explain how my bed rattled viciously when my mum was there over 3 hours away from home?

Cold readings exist of course, as I've seen many exposed on YouTube and other websites, but that doesn't mean all mediums are fakes.

The reason why I didn't tackle your bed rattling is because of what you just said and what I said in the first line of my first post on this topic:

You say you've seen cold reading exposures on youtube, but you say this in the same post?
If you had seen cold readers being exposed then you would know how they can say things which seem specific to people they've never even met before.

If she had found your mum on Facebook or researched her then it wouldn't even be cold reading, it would just be lying.
Part of the requirements of it being called cold reading is that they don't know anything.

Hux wrote Oh my bad, didn't really notice you didn't mention that, my apologies.

As for the Facebook thing, my mum doesn't have Facebook and the only people who have known bout the 'imaginary friend' part is my parents and myself. I understand that a lot of 'mediums' give fake readings but that doesn't necessarily mean that's the case with all of them, it's just those who know they can get away with it as I guess it can be something so simple to fake.

All I can say to this is that you're right, the existence of cold readers doesn't outright disprove the existence of real mediums.
I simply think that their existence puts a level of doubt onto the existence of real mediums which is vastly underestimated by most people who have encounters like this.
Not to say that you are one of them.

I can't say i truly believe they exist, sure they could but i haven't any experiences with them.

Weirdest thing i can think off is when i went with my mother to work (she's a carer, there is a very sweet old lady mid eighties and she said things my nan use to say for example my nam once said 'Be careful who you love, they can one day just walk out on your life like you never existed' and after an hour of me knowing this woman she grabs my hand and says that?

Call bullshit or not it happened and creeped me the the **** out.

I've had some sort of a ghost experience but I myself am not 100% sure if it was a ghost or just a random person since it happened so fast. This happened years ago when I was around 12-13 maybe and I used to pull all nighters during school holidays spending a lot of my time on Xbox playing games with my friends. My mother worked night shifts and would come home at around 6am which by then I would try and go to sleep. I was looking outside of my window to see if she was out there and I did this multiple times by constantly opening the blinds. I once did it and a pale white man dressed in full black clothing and having one of those big black coats and had a black dog with him as well. He just stared at me and the dog didn't even move. I was like oh shit so I quickly closed the blinds and then reopened them to see if he was still there and he wasn't.

Other than that nothing major has happened to me.

tbh people wont belive in ghosts untill they have had a real ghost experience happen to them.. then theyll believe that these stories could actually be possibilities.
