Motto: i dont know
.ive been told that a old relative that wanted to see me died before i was born and now comes to check on me. on lots of occasions me and my family have heard and seen freaky things going on in our house which we were told it was a family member that had passed away.

most freaky thing ive had is i was at home alone and i was walking down the stairs, i heard a door open to the other room upstairs and heard someone laugh from the room above me, went back upstairs and the door was wide open. the door is stiff so difficult to fully open and doesn't ever stay open fully like it. however was open when i went back u stairs (no windows open). The most freaky thing was that i described it to my mum later that day when she got back and she said that my younger brother described hearing the same voice when he got back later on while he was in his room.

I believe in all this kind of stuff personally but you know people who don't experience first hand will usually deny if they don't believe themselves.

Weird stuff happening in your home if it is true, If it's a relative they mean no harm of course.

Waiting for the ghostbuster's to come and debunk this topic as fake

You can't debunk stuff like this unless you are where it happened and find something else which explains it.
Unfortunately it seems that most people jump to the ghost conclusion when things like this happen instead of investigating fully themselves.

I'm sorry if it makes me - and others - seem intolerant because I'll state that I think it's absurd to believe that people hang around after they're dead just to creep out people who are still alive.

Even if I did believe in ghosts I'd still approach things like this in the same way that Ed and Lorraine Warren did.
They were paranormal investigators who openly stated that the vast majority of hauntings and ghost sightings that they investigated were caused by natural phenomena.
They still believed in ghosts and if you've seen The Conjuring then you know how their story turns out, but they had the honesty and integrity not to just believe because they wanted to, or because it was easier than investigating.

Recently my girlfriend and I went to Savanah, Ga which has been dubbed the most haunted city in America, given it's past. It's became a big tourism town and drives in people wanting to experience paranormal things. There are several hotels, bnb's, etc. there that have a history behind it and have had ghostly encounters there. We stayed at the Foley Inn ( I'll link an article at the end for anyone who would like to know the history behind it ). We checked into our room and my girlfriend is in the bathroom doing her makeup and I'm sitting down on this couch, and my girlfriend's purse which was standing upright for 20 minutes+ just falls over on to the ground. Now I didn't think too much of it just maybe it was off balance but I figured if it was it would have fell over way sooner than it did.

Same night, we book this little ghost investigations tour around the city and graveyards around midnight. So its a few hours before then so we decide to take a nap before, so we turn all the lights and tv off and start to go to bed and then it sounds like a pen or something hit the floor so I get up and turn the lights on to check what fell and nothing was on the floor. Well given that this place is fairly old, the doors still had chain locks as well as the dead bolts. I know for a 100% fact that I slid the chain lock into the door and when I got up to check to see what fell on the ground, the chain was dangling from the door. That freaked me the **** out and I really couldn't find an explanation for that.

Then on one of our last nights were in bed and I hear someone say "there coming" and then me and my girlfriend start to hear loud crying. Brief story behind the place, the lady who built the bnb, her husband died and she had a big painting of him and they say she would sit in front of it and cry for hours and hours.

So those were just some weird things that we had happen to use while we were there. I'll link one of the most popular videos from Savanah, Ga where there is a ghost of a woman walking and then disappearing behind these big pillars on the porch.

If someone would like to give what they think of that video, please do.

I've experienced all sorts and none of it has been explained..

1. When I was a couple of years old I had an "imaginary friend" called Jack that I used to sit in the corner of my bedroom and talk to. I'm 20 years old now and a few years ago as we forgot all about it, my Mum went to a spiritualist medium about communicating with my Nan who passed away back in 2012. The woman had no idea who my mum was and had no contact with our family and said this to my mum. "Have you noticed one of your sons talking to an "imaginary friend" when he was very young? Was his name Jack? That boy was once living in that house many years ago" People can call bs all they like but there is no explanation for it other than what the medium told us.

2. You know how they say when family members pass away, their spirit stays with you and protects you and your house etc. etc.? Well my Mum seen another medium when I was 14 years old. I was at home with my girlfriend at the time watching a movie, all doors locked just us alone and my bed started to rattle viciously, just like you see on the movies. Rattling like crazy sort of like bouncing left and right and not going to lie I was crying my eyes out, it was the scariest thing I have ever experienced in my life for about 3-4 minutes straight. I went downstairs after a couple hours and seen a shadow in the kitchen behind the door which has a glass window panel. I thought maybe it's my Dad home from work early so I checked outside and he was still 30 minutes away at work so.. as soon as my mum stopped talking to this medium everything weird stopped happening. So as they say, I guess a 'demonic' spirit or entity took advantage of my Nan's spirit leaving the house to communicate with my Mum and basically scared the living shite out of me. (Before you say how would you know your mum started and stopped talking etc. it's because I explained this all to her and phoned her whilst it happened)

Now I don't expect you to believe me because if you don't, then I don't really give a shit but that's what happened to me and I'll never forget it!

Yes there is. Ever heard of cold reading? Ever looked into mediums who have came out as fakes and explained how they do what they do?
Ever looked into magicians and psychologists who can do exactly what mediums do- sometimes even better than mediums do - without any supernatural abilities?

For instance, a magician in the UK went to the US to try out methods mediums use which he had been learning. He went there undercover as a fake medium and met up with a 'real medium.' She watched him use these methods and said that he was obviously a very gifted medium. Even a medium con-woman, who knows the tricks these people use, was tricked into believing these tricks.

There are plenty of explanations for this if you look for them.
