Hey guys!

So I have Astro A40's from about 2013. I have the maxamp pro and everything is set up almost exactly the same as how it was back when I first got my xbox one. So my mic is having two issues. When everything is running through the mixamp like its supposed to be, everyone I talk to says I sound super muffled. When I plug the headset directly into the controller, the opposite occurs, and my mic is instead SUPER sensitive and echoes. When I say "super sensitive" I mean like dropping the controller to speakers, which weighs less than like... a quarter pound, on the carpet and my mic picking it up. Idk what the hell the issue is but I can't find a fix anywhere online for what seems to be a fairly common issue. I'm just wondering if anyone here has any inputs. Also I haven't been on TTG since before the forum categorization update so if I'm now in the wrong section just let me know.

Thanks!

I'm not a major fan of the Astro's anymore. Back on the 360 they were the best a man could get but I find the Turtlebeach are the winning headset for me on the Xbox One. Never had any issues and can hear almost everything with a perfect mic.

Maybe it's time to trade in and get a new set, as I had this issue with the TR model. Got rid straight away and invested in XO4's. Best decision I've ever made!

Thanks for the reply dude. I'm just mad that the headset worked flawlessly for 5 years and now they get messed up for literally no reason? Alright, well I'll check out some new headphones but for now I'm going to keep looking for fixes.

I had problems with my mixamp when I first got it.
Since you've had them so long maybe you've tried, but have you tried updating your mixamp firmware?

Have you tried updating your controller on xbox one, if there is one available?

I JUST updated the mixamp firmware and I'll try the controller firmware in a minute. I'm thinking the last dashboard update did me in because nothing else changed at all.
