Honestly, right now is the worst time to be buying a GPU and overall PC building with how much price inflation has hit GPU, RAM and SSDs.

Someone posted this on Reddit last night. A STRIX 580 is going for 5,000 Turkish Lira, which is just over $1,400. This card due to inflation costs more than the highest end 1080 TI (probably more than Kingpin will cost) and even more than the Titan X Pascal. It's ridiculous.

At this point when it comes to buying GPUs your best bet is to buy used as brand new GPUs are going to run you a lot of money. Nvidia and AMD have made cards only for mining, but it'll be a while before those have an impact on the overall stock of cards. You can head over here on Reddit and look for people selling their 1060's or make a topic requesting a 1060 to be bought (read the rules for formatting that way it's easier on your end) and see if anyone has one they want to sell within your price range.

Alternatively, there are sites such as the one below that can help you track when GPUs are put up on websites. You will have to check this religiously and be even quicker when it comes to buying if you are absolutely set out on getting a brand new GPU. If you get it quick enough, you should be able to get it at a reasonable price before the inflation hits from supply =/= demand. Also just an important tip, make sure if you decide to use this site, when using Google to find it, you are clicking the .net link. DO NOT click the .com link, that is apparently a fake site that is packed with viruses.

Like I said before, it will be hard to get one because of right now, miners are kicking the GPU market's ass, but at the same time they're helping it a lot. This gives a bunch of money for R&D which AMD really needs to make their Vega and any other architecture that more competing against Nvidia and Intel; while Nvidia isn't in dire need of money, it still helps them with R&D. If AMD is able to spearhead a great card with Vega and with how Ryzen 3 is looking, that gives more competition for Intel and Nvidia to try and best them, which is better for us in the long run. Plus once the cryptocurrency bubble crashes, these things will be dirt cheap. Would not doubt for a second if GPUs like the 1070 are going for $250 or so just so they can try and make some of their lost money back.

If you live in the US, Check microcenter, either the website or if you have a store near you. I was near on last weekend and they had everything except the 580's

If you were gonna pay 500-600 why not buy a 1080 at that point then
