I'll be going to uni this September and I seriously need a new laptop. I'm considering the HP Spectre or Spectre x360 what do you guys recommend and why?
My budget is up to about £1300 that's about $1600.
Touchscreen is not essential and having a usable keyboard is pretty important. I can't see myself getting used to the Macbook keyboards with no travel.

I would get something decently cheaper. There's no real need to spend that much for something that you're just going to write papers on and maybe take notes. Personally I have a thinkpad x230 with an i5-3320M, 8GB of RAM and a 240GB SSD. Runs super fast and does everything I need while being lightweight and cheap.

What course are you taking? It might change what recommendations we would make.

The dell xps line is always a solid choice.
