Bru wrote Yes, I've used my vote this morning! My vote has gone to UKIP after carefully reading pledges from all major parties.

In my personal opinion I think the conservatives need to go, yes they are pushing brexit ahead but they are also looking to privatise our NHS, but the most important thing we need to look at is our security forces! They need to be given more power and our boarders need to be more strict in who is allowed to come into our country. In no way shape or form am I a racist person, im all for a multi cutltural country but our country are letting known terrorist suspects into our land which needs to stop but in my opinion the torries are not the right people to do this for us.

They were born here, that's not letting anyone in. Ill informed voter once again.

But you voted, props to you.
Want to explain how he is an "ill informed voter"? All he said was that he wants the border control tightened. He didn't say anything about people that where born here either. Throwing insults because someone doesn't share the same views as you. GG

I said about one point.

He's not talking about any specific person though, he's speaking genreally. So who was born here then? You don't know who he's even referring to. You're just assuming he's talking about the recent events. Talking down to me like I'm stupid.

At the beginning of the election campaign I was a Tory without a doubt because of Teresa Mays support to farmers and fox hunting. Coming from a faming background where dog led foxhunts went through our back garden, I liked what she offered.

But then Jeremy Corbyn just started to make more sense with everything else. I was scared about how my grandparents would afford care when they're old. The privatization of the NHS (even if I do have private health care myself.

Corbyns ideas on scrapping tuition fees is class too. Being a university student this is the best thing any PM has offered in a long time.

Seam wrote Electing someone is more than just whats happening now. There's hundreds of other reasons you really need to think... Schools, NHS, Housing, Brexit and many many more. Don't be idiotic, read the manifesto's over again, and pick based on what you want to see, not a group of people you want to ban from the country.

The reason why people are being single issue voters when it comes to refugees is because they believe that if the refugee problem isn't handled now then it will badly affect all of those other things down the line.

Even if he is talking about the recent events Seam is still wrong.
So this is the contentious part:
letting known terrorist suspects into our land

Zaghba, 22, a Moroccan Italian who lived in East London, was detained on suspicion of terrorism offences in Italy last year after police at Bologna Airport thought he was attempting to travel to Syria.
Material relating to the so-called Islamic State group was found on his phone.
He was not prosecuted, but the Italian authorities said they told UK intelligence agencies about him and added his details to an EU-wide database, the Schengen Information System 2 (SIS 2).
It's thought the main purpose of including Zaghba on the SIS 2 database was to track his movements, should he leave Italy and travel elsewhere in Europe.

... which he did when he traveled back to the UK.

That is the UK security services letting known terror suspects through its borders.
Seam, being an uninformed voter is just as bad as either assuming what someone means without clarifying, or purposefully twisting what they said to straw man them.
I think you just assumed he meant letting people from other countries who have never lived here before through the border, which is a fair assumption to make considering the rhetoric surrounding that issue, but that isn't what he said.

Back to the topic though: I've switched back and forth quite a lot but I voted Conservative because we need a hard Brexit, and when it comes to the war on terror I think the Conservatives are probably going to be better at handling it than Labour.
These are the two major issues at the moment, and I don't care about fox hunting and free school meals enough to vote based on those issues.
