Hi, I was rooting my HTC One M8. I got to the final bit of the toolkit and was doing the perm root, then it restart as it should have but now it's on a screen with a phone with a triange and exclamation mark inside of it. It then reboots into normal android and when I try to do it again it just does the same thing.

Help?

Yellow triangle red exclamation?

You need to unlock the bootloader if you haven't as well as flash a decent recovery (TWRP) is the best for HTC and LG phones i've noticed.

EDIT: use a root checker to be sure it passed or failed.

Well, I actually think my phone is bricked.

I shut down the phone, it then went to the screen where it your phone is off but the phone is charging and the LED lights for charging are on, the weird thing about this is, I don't have my charger connected to it. It's been like this for hours and I've tried like every way of booting the phone up but it wont turn on. It was last on 79%.

You're in luck then HTC has a recovery tool.

Even more luckier I stood there for a nonce holding down the volume down button and power button and it turned on for some reason. The problem is everytime I try to shut down/do the perm root it goes onto the 'HTC' screen which you get when you boot up the phone and it stays like that, even after an hour. Therefore I can't root my phone because of this.
