So my mother has a Toshiba Satellite c50-b-189 and she has a bit of a problem. It turns on but freezes on the "Toshiba Leading Innovation" then loads onto a screen saying "Reboot and select a proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"

I have no idea what to do and was wondering if any of you computer wizards could help?

+Rep to whoever can help!

go into the BIOS first of all, and check that their is a drive, just look around for it. If it isn't detected their could be an issue there, either a dead drive or bad seating.

Next, if it is go through the BIOS and find, enable boot device selection, if it isn't already active, and after startup spam the key if it is. Select the hard drive and problem solved.

Usually should be just pressing the key (f8-f12/DEL) for laptops
