Just watched a new film out called "Hacksaw Ridge." Fair to say that its one of the best movies i have ever watched. The fact that there is a true story connected to it is really good. Would not heistate to tell someone to watch this movie so go give it a try and see what you think of it.

For me - 9.7/10

Never heard of it is it on pirate bay?

I personally think this is a better movie than Saving Private Ryan and I am a big fan of Saving Private Ryan. It was previously my favourite war movie ahead of The Hurt Locker, Black Hawk Down, and Full Metal Jacket.

This is a return to form for Mel Gibson.

Saving Private Ryan was very good in terms of action and story but I never felt any sort of connection to any of the characters.
This film is very much a character study as well as having action that is up there with the greatest war films in history.

Absolutely hate war films, Saving Pvt. Ryan especially, so cringey and over the top.

If you're referring to the action then I would contest the sentiment that it is over the top given that actual survivors of D-Day and Omaha Beach have said that it is a very realistic depiction of what it was actually like.
If you mean the characters - and especially Pvt. Jackson - then I understand what you mean by it being over the top.

Hacksaw Ridge was a very well made movie, i have to agree it was a definite comeback for Gibson. The movie was very tough to watch at some parts but it's war, simple as that. The Hurt Locker was good, i won't deny it but it was unrealistic, coming from someone with experience. A lot of parts were unrealistic and lots of mistakes.

Black Hawk Down was very good though and i read a book about it and it was pretty accurate. RLTW man..

Saving Private Ryan was also very good. They are both amazing movies in their own way.

Yeah watched this a while back and it is by far one of the best war based movies i have seen. (And i have seen a lot)

also the fact that its based on a true story makes it a lot better to see somebody go through all that is crazy knowing it really happened.

Also if you enjoyed this movie i highly suggest you watch a TV mini series by HBO Called "Band Of Brothers" still my top TV show of all time and just can not be beaten.
