An off-duty Westwego police officer shot in the back of the head Friday morning (Jan. 20) has died, according to JPSO. A woman who also was shot has died as well.

JPSO said the shooting came after a domestic dispute between the woman and another person.

Officer Michael Louviere became involved when he saw a car crash and stopped to assist, according to the Westwego Police Department.

According to the Westwego Police Department spokesman, Louviere worked the night shift and was heading home when he witnessed the crash at Ames and Barataria. He got out of his vehicle and asked if anyone needed assistance, the spokesman said.

A young Bloomingdale police officer was killed in a car accident while on-duty Thursday night, officials said.
Around 9:30 p.m., 27-year-old officer Raymond Murrell was responding to a call about a possible retail theft in progress with multiple offenders when his unmarked SUV crashed into a pole near the intersection of Army Trail Road and Cardinal Avenue in the west suburb, police said.

A passenger jumped from a car and opened fire in the middle of a D.C. street Wednesday morning after an off-duty police officer spotted a Mercedes being driven erratically and began following it, police said.

Pride Toronto say it has no plans to backtrack on a vote Tuesday night that would ban all police participation from this years parade at the request of Black Lives Matter (BLM).

Maryland State Police have charged a Sykesville man after a pilot and trooper were injured when a laser beam was pointed at their helicopter.
Media outlets report that the helicopter was flying in Westminster about 1 a.m. Monday. Troopers say the cockpit of the aircraft was struck by a green laser beam about eight times.
Authorities say the helicopter crew found the source of the laser beam was a home in Sykesville, where the laser pointer was found.

Schools were locked down, roads closed and two law enforcement officers died near Orlando on Monday, as a month-long hunt closed in on a murder suspect and turned violent.

Accused of killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend last month, Markeith D. Loyd shot Sgt. Debra Clayton multiple times when she confronted him outside a Walmart near the Pine Hills area west of Orlando, police said. Loyd then fled the scene and remains at large.

That wasnt the end of the violence: A sheriffs deputy was struck and killed by a sport-utility vehicle while responding to the shooting, and another deputy took fire while trying to stop Loyds presumed getaway vehicle.
