I don't understand why schools are the place to shoot. It's the next generation to help us build as a community.

Celebrating or lamenting the appointment of their new president.
Going about their daily lives, shopping, working, going to school. Some are probably hiking in the woods or playing video games.
Some unlucky people left their houses a couple of minutes too late and are stuck in traffic.

I'm willing to bet that a large portion of them are also reading more than the headlines when they look through the news, which is more than can be said for you.
