The price of Freddo bars is set to rise to 30p this spring.

The Cadburys chocolate frogs are the latest treat to have their price hiked because of manufacturing costs, the Guardian reported.

At the moment, the recommended retail price for Freddos is 25p, up from 10p at the turn of the century.

Mondelez International, which owns Cadburys, refused to be drawn on specific products but said any increase was a last resort to "keep brands on the shelves".

It comes after the company controversially changed the shape of its Toblerone bars so they contain less chocolate for the same price.

His actually hurts, I remember back on the day you would get your milk for your parents and your parents would give you 10p to treat yourself to a freddo

When Freddo's and Taz's were 5p in the shops as a kid was the best time, now you're just getting a fist shoved inside you and cleaning out your money.

Doesn't seem like the bar is much compared to US candy.

Blame inflation. I remember when they used to be like 5p from my local shop!

I remember when Freddos were 10p this topic is bringing me back some memories. I used to each that sort of chocolate all the time not anymore. Crazy!
