So my old car got totaled so I bought my grandpas 2002 Acura TLS. It is a very nice car and everything. But Im wanting to replace the headunit so I can listen to my phone and stuff, but I read on many websites that I have to get like a new amp and stuff because it won't work together. I am not a car nerd or anything so I really don't know much. I thought about taking it to my local Video Kingdom and letting them deal with it. Any ideas?

if you're talking about the deck, all you need is a Honda/Acura wire plug from autozone and the deck. or you can just cut the wires and match them according to color, i did it in my Integra and my Old jeep

If your changing just the head unit.. just make sure you got the correct wiring harness to go with, and the deck like disc said, but everything after that is just matching everything... shouldn't need to change any amp unless your dealing with subs or anything like that

I'd suggest asking the seller if they come with the right harness/cables & adapters for your car. Most shops and garages have guides on which cables and adapters are needed for each stereo

You just need to replace your stereo with an Aux or Bluetooth compatible one and get it re-wired. My friend had it done on his 2001 Scion TC. I recommend going to like Geek Squad, Pep Boys or a Mechanic unless your good with wires lol

As people have mentioned, you really only just need the headunit itself and a wiring harness. You shouldn't have to replace the factory amp unless you want more power. You could also look into replacing your interior speakers if the stock ones sound like ass.

I'm sure Nebraska has some electronics stores like Bestbuy. They can even install your system for you, but it can be quite pricey. Otherwise, you can just get the stuff you need off of crutchfield. Just make sure you do some research on your car before you start yanking stuff out of it. Good luck!

Research online what you would need (adapters etc), Order all the required stuff from Amazon or something and take it to a garage.
