So whenever I park on a decently steep hill, my car won't go into drive, but if I park downhill or even it works perfectly. Anyone know what this exact cause is? I can't give much rep but I still will for any help!

I would research your Make/Model/Year and go from there.
Another idea is to contact the dealership

Next time you park your car were it won't go into drive, set the E-brake before you put it in park, then when you drive next put it in D before you release the E-brake.

It does this because your car can still roll a little bit before all the slack is taken up between the gears in the diff, the drive shaft, and the gears in the trans. Once they all lock up (like when you roll on a hill) you have to fight them. The steeper the hill the harder it becomes. most older vehicles are like this.

When you put the car in park it's pushing what's called a "prawl" which is a metal claw into the output shaft to prevent it from turning. On a hill your putting all the weight of the car on that claw and that's why it's hard to pull it out of park on hills. It's like that in my old car. It sounded like gunshots when I took it out of park on a steep hill.

Use the e-brake and turn your wheels next time broski
