Muse wrote Not sure why everyone thinks art is easier, is it just because it isn't manual labor? It is still tough work, I do graphic design full time. Also, I would bet carpentry would pay much better straight out of school compared to design, I can almost guarantee it. On the other hand, there are a lot less carpentry jobs.

I would have to agree, it's not always easy finding design work unless you know lots of people that know people that need designs done.

Construction work really depends where you live and how the environment around you is.
If it seems like a lot of new buildings, parks, roads etc are being built then the industry may be in good standing.

If you have more advantages in art class because you said that the art teacher is your favorite teacher then go for art man but choose whatever you think won't seem as "work" when it really is work because that is what you would have a passion for and it will make things easier.

Well I'm not that great at art and I know anyone can do well if they practice enough but I personally would rather construction.

To whoever said art will pay more, you are very wrong mate. Construction is becoming a less popular career choice but a more needed skill. If you do construction you will be balling. I know brick layers who are on 150k a year because there aint many around. Jump on it.
