I am still getting 53 mb/s but this is what it looks like when i do a speed test- surely its not supposed to look like this

Well I'm currently using Wi-Fi and get the same kind of pattern as you are, my speeds still decent just a drop. However, not too sure about Ethernet but I know it happens with Wi-Fi so may just be the same case for Ethernet?

Called my ISP and they ran checks, found an error, fixed it within 5 mins now BOOM...

Glad you could fix it. Another thing some people may not know is that some ISPs (ahemm Cox and Comcast) throttle your connection depending on the amount of web traffic in your area. Comcast throttles me from the 300mbps I pay for to about 75 usually on saturdays between 3-5pm because that's when it is most busy. Not even sure if this is legal anymore with net neutrality and all that

So you were getting 50mb/s but the site was still saying otherwise?

Could've also been a site issue but I'm glad this has been resolved.

No i was getting 50 mb/s but the connection was constantly dropping
