Since the foundation of the Internet, a contract has been handed over to the United States Commerce Department under which the department had given authority to regulate the Internet.

I wasn't even aware that any particular nation had control of the internet anyway, so I can't say this trade off would be a bad thing. Ultimately it will probably be easier on the government not to have to deal with that.

The U.S had 'control' of the Internet but they operated through a sub company called ICANN. ICANN is actually the one who now controls it fully, and they want more freedom for us while the U.S has constantly been trying to stop basic rights on the internet.

We'll have to see how it does. I doubt the average user will really notice unless they make MAJOR changes.
