It's a piece of software that's ran through the RAM instead of a hard drive. A hard drive could be completely dead and you could still use hirens. It's basically a program with multiple other programs in it for diagnostics, resetting forgotten windows passwords, and other things. You can also just google "how to use hirens to check if hard drive is failing" or something along those lines if you feel like it's to complicated for you.

In one of my previous posts I linked 2 different links. One is the software and the other is the full tutorial how to get it onto the USB properly.

No never bothered always used FaceTime but I'm at work anyway.

Best thing I can suggest is to read that link in the earlier post on how to install it on a flash drive and make sure you did all that right. Just remember that this whole process is just to verify that the drive is failing, which we already determined is 95% likely based on the pictures you posted. If you don't feel all this is necessary and just want to get a new drive that is an option. You'll just have to reinstall windows. If you go that route, you can also attempt to connect your old drive externally to see if you can recover any of your old data such as documents, pictures, etc.

Good value new HDD: WD Blue 1TB SATA 6 Gb/s 7200 RPM 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch Desktop Hard Drive (WD10EZEX) [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

External HDD enclosure to connect old HDD via USB: Sabrent USB 3.0 to SATA External Hard Drive Lay-Flat Docking Station for 2.5 or 3.5in HDD, SSD [Support UASP] (EC-DFLT) [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

The external enclosure is a great product investment reguardless. I use that same one to connect my 4tb HDD externally for backup purposes.
