Hello, so I'm going to get my truck checked out here soon I'm just wondering if any of you would know what this could be.

When I'm driving it sounds like a thumping sound bUT less of a thumping and more like ... wum wum wum wum wum wum (lmao) hard to explain in text.

And that's it.. just that it doesn't get louder around turns. I thought at first it was a wheel bearing. But then a guy that has only owned trucks in his life said it's normal and that it's wheel drone or something..

Then I gave a different guy a ride home and he's like that was on my van let's look at it. So we looked at it and thier are very tiny bulges on the outside of the tire. Like breaching of the tire walls to cause a blowout.. they are very small but still there (so I'm getting new tires next weekend no matter what...) but he's like that's what's causing the noise.. so I'm like okay awesome now two people said only tires not a big deal..

But it's getting a little louder.. I think..... and the first guy says it could be a ball joint? When I was driving today I took a turn and two chirps came from the drivers side tire ( where all this noise is coming from btw) and when I was heading home it chirped twice more but quieter.. kinda like if my tire was skipping across the road ( but it wasn't).

Theirs one new tire on this truck and it's the front passenger. The noise is coming from the front drivers side.. so idk.. imma replace all the tires cause 3/4 are older... then I guess check that tire unless the tire guys will be able to see the issue when changing the tires out..

Anyone experience this before?

Any chance you could upload a video so we can sort of hear what you are? But yes start with the obvious and replace the damaged tyres. If it still persists, upload a clip. :p

Run your hand down the tread of your tire real fast. Does it feel straight, or are there bumps in it? If there are, your alignment is off and / or your ball joints, ti rods, etc. are bad (one or the other or all of the above). If it's straight then check the tread depth on the inside and outside of the tire. If they are different, you have an alignment issue which could be caused by a bad ball joint, ti rod, etc.

Is your truck 4x4? Go in a quiet parking lot or cul-de-sac, what ever and roll your windows down. Go forward very slowly (under 5mph) and start to turn. Do this for both sides. You might hear a clicking sound, similar to a card in a bicycle wheel, or a huge thud like someone just slammed your wheel with a sledge hammer. You probably would'e felt the thud before, but the clicking people often times don't pick up on. If it's either of these, your CV axles are bad and need to be replaced. If it's just the thud though, have everything checked out as clicking is 100% CV axles and the thud could be other things.

I made a video but I'll upload it after this upcoming weekend due to getting new tires.

It has very slight bumps on the outside wall like a breach but very minimal. The tread is the same on both sides but getting low. Theirs lots of weather cracks and they look old a'f. I'm getting new tires this upcoming Saturday in hopes that all 4 same tires and being new will fix the issue.
