I'm doing a project for college about guns in society. I need your opinions! Do you support gun ownership? Do you own and firearms yourself? Leave your answers below. Thanks!

PS: I am an avid gun collector my self. I enjoy going out to the range and shooting for fun. Also thought about competing as sport!

Yes and yes.
I believe that the argument against guns if often completely misguided as the extreme majority of gun deaths are people who are killing themselves, not others.

Remember guys, guns don't kill people.

But yes, I support gun ownership. I don't own anything though because I'd have no where to keep them and don't feel like going through all the paperwork. Besides, not really a point when that's literally what I do for a living, and for free.

I'm just saying if a dude tries to rob my house in the middle of the night, he's not leaving uninjured.
Don't expect to do illegal things and not expect to get shot when civilians choose to defend themselves.

Hell yeah I support gun ownership and you bet I own them lol. You get these damn paper pushers high up in office that think they know what is going on and they think because a gun is what someone used to commit a mass murder that we should ban the gun.

Washington state right now is trying to ban "assault weapons" and high capacity magazines. The biggest issue with that is, what is an "assault rifle"? Generally speaking, something semi-automatic that looks tacticle and has a high capacity magazine. For example, you take your standard AR-15 with a 30 round mag. That classifies as an "assault weapon". Take that 30 round mag out and put a 10 round mag in and now it's a "sporting rifle".

While I will agree that today there is very little to no reason at all to own an AR-15 or AK-47 or high capacity magazines, there is also no reason not to have them.

In gun culture you have two, very simple groups. Group A are the people who own guns for self defense, hunting, and having fun on weekends at the range. Group B is your city slickers who don't know a damn thing about guns but think it's cool to own them and think they have a lot of power with them. There are a lot more people in group A than there are in group B. Coming off of group B we have that minority of people (roughly 0.00001% of the population of the US) who buy guns to kill people and commit mass murder. Does it suck hearing about mass murders? You bet it does, however 10k people a year die by being murdered by a person who used a firearm. That is 0.0001% of the population who gets murdered. Should we take these guns that create fun for the other 99.9998% of the population because the other part is unfortunate? NO.

Bad people will get guns regardless if they are legal or not. Taking them away from honest people will only put them in harm.

The US is in too deep to make drastic change to gun laws I think.

Guns are eh, dont like them dont dislike they. Hate to be that guy, but im just neutral on the topic.

I dont see anything wrong with them at all, i dont own any but i have shot a couple before.

I honestly dont see a problem with them i think the main problem is the people who are able to get a hold of them

I support gun ownership. Don't have any myself but I believe others should be able to have them if they want.
