You can't assume everyone's going to laugh at your joke and think it's the funniest thing in the world. Don't get me wrong, I have a dark sense of humour and don't really take offense to some jokes but that doesn't mean everyone is the same about the same things. I have encountered many people that were stuck up about some things but generally when you encounter people like that it's probably best to just leave them be to communicate with other stuck-up people. Find people you enjoy talking to/communicating with and stick to that. Somewhat useless post tbh, this has been made many times before.

XeGlitch wrote Legit everyone takes things so serious and it pisses me off tbh.

Then leave.

But, in all seriousness the way that other people take things and react should have no correlation to the way that you are as a person, unless you're the one being the ****. Just do you.

lol this is me, no one likes my humour because it's dark, but as someone said before with all the equality things going on everyone turns the blind eye to it, I mean, i won't lie, I find jokes pointed towards different races and religions funny, and I'm sure many others do as well, but when people take it to the point where their putting someone down because of their race/gender/sexuality ext.. is wrong in my opinion.

I couldn't care less if someone was offended by one of my jokes. It just pisses me off that some go the extra step to report or take down your content because of it. I've had it happen numerous times.

On a different note, dark humor is depreciating. People just say edgy shit for a shock reaction and mask it as satire rather than making a well thought out dark joke.

Sean wrote The whole world has become politically correct dark humour is now a dying art.

Have to disagree with you here. The world has become so much less politically correct.

You think that Jimmy Carr, Frankie Boyle, Doug Stanhope, Brendon Burns, Louis C.K, Jim Jefferies, even Sacha Baron Cohen would have been able to do their routines and types of comedy in the 70's and 80's?

The only people who got away with doing dark comedy in the 70's and 80's were black people because, like today, there was the view that black people can't be seriously racist, and old people like George Carlin, because old people are allowed to be offensive for some reason.

The comedians I listed fill out stadiums, have TV shows, sell books, and spread their brand of dark comedy to a worldwide audience on a daily basis, yet dark humor is dying?

The whole point of dark humor is to offend some people. There will be people who listen to a dark joke and laugh, others who don't find it funny, and there have to be people who find it offensive, otherwise it isn't dark, it's just a regular joke.

People are conflating the new 'safe space' crowd with people who find dark humor offensive, there might be an overlap, but the defining difference is that the latter have always existed and today their numbers are being over-estimated by the anti-SJW crowd.

People finding dark humor offensive is a necessary part of dark humor, that is why many comedians stay away from it, and that is why it is considered a difficult but, if done right, highly rewarded comedic path to travel. If you get it right you can become world famous, but if you get it wrong you'll never work as a comedian again.

That's the prestige of dark humor and why it must be found offensive by some.
