Now watching this video makes me think twice about eating meat from animals. I think I would eat meat from animals as most people like eating meat from animals.

Getting the cells out of the animals with harming the animal itself. Then growing the tissues into large muscles. To me that sounds odd and wouldn't taste as good as you wold kill the animal to eat their meat.

Well I think for the price tag is should be more expensive due to it doesn't harm the animal, the meat is healthy (you could say) and it's good for the environment

Because factory farmed meat is harvested in pretty inhumane ways and in some cases animals are pumped with steroids etc, so I can see why a cleaner method of getting meat is on the table.

Should watch the video it actually explains... Please dont just shitpost

You say don't flame and then you go on to flame yourself?
I eat meat not some shit made in a lab just to keep vegans happy.

Honestly, it seems like a total scam to me.

If it's such a good idea and it's going to change the world and all this, why the hell do they not have any sponsorship's or grants? They're on YouTube begging people for only $100,000, surely they could easily get this from a vegan celebrity or businessman who wanted to do a good dead and make tons of money.

Firstly, I don't like the idea of eating food that's made completely from radiation and it is. People don't seem to understand that you really can't beat nature and I can guarantee that there's no way to make meat from a non animal source because it simply isn't possible. Either the original cells used to grow the meat are animal cells, therefore you are eating meat and it goes completely against being a vegan or they're not animal cells, in which case it's not actual meat and the whole video is a lie.

Seems extremely suspicious. Food that's completely genetically modified and claims to have the exact same genetic setup as meat but isn't meat but then they're claiming that it is meat?

I don't see the problem with this product IF it's all what it claims to be and people don't start getting tumours and cancer from the radiation used to grow the meat years after eating it.

This certainly isn't for me though, I couldn't give a damn about animals so long as there's people in Africa starving. A cow or pig doesn't contribute to the planet in anyway possible, they literally do nothing except provide food for humans. Humans are far more important than animals and no number of animals is worth a single human life in my eyes, you should be campaigning to save African children instead of animals, at-least the animals get to die quickly.

This thread is going to almost certainly get some flame, because the majority of us don't care if animals are dying because it's life and shit happens. You not eating animal products does absolutely nothing to stop the production of meat because you still buy animal products, they're used to make medicine, fireworks, shampoo, plastic, wallpaper, candles, perfume and loads more. I can guarantee that you use a product made from a part of an animal everyday. The keyboard your typing on probably has animal ingredients in it.

I also have no idea how this is going to work for every single type of meat. Can they get bacon? Gammon? Steak? For all we know they can only make one type of meat and this whole idea becomes a disaster.

There isn't really any winning or losing in this area, some people would give up meat while others would still tend to eat meat. I'm sure if the animals were in control they'd be eating us

002 wrote Personally, I would not buy this over real meat. What this is doing is putting more processed food and genetically modified foods in us which are actually killing us. Not only that, but it's taking money away from farmers. I think the idea is cool, however I just would not be one to buy into it for several reasons, but the main 2 would be for less GMO foods and keeping farms in business.

Bro you took my words right out of my mouth. I couldn't agree more

This product isnt aimed towatds vegans, this product is aimed towards people who want alternatives to meat or try to reduce their meat in take. A vegan would not eat lab grown meat.

It is pretty shady and im not really sure how it would work out, it sounds too good to be true and in most cases something that sounds too good to be true usually isnt real or true.

Im not going to touch any other part of your reply because it would start a flame war and I DONT want that but yeah no stop saying this is about vegans because its not a product made for vegans.

No, I wouldn't. I enjoy real meat and a shitty advertising campaign won't be able to change my mind

If I had an endless supply of meat in my own home, I'd probably overdose on protein lol

It's a cool concept, and given the chance to try meat made this way, I'd definitely jump on it just because why the hell not lol

If it's as good at real meat, because they say it actually is real meat, I could get behind this, but some people spoke of overpopulated animals, I don't think this is true, as people work hard to keep the population high like now, but if there's less demand for meat through those means, there's gonna be less need to breed these animals, and I think it'd all balance out pretty good
