Look, I've played the game, I see the enjoyment in it, but what I don't like about it, is that people are so entranced by it, they forget what common sense is.
Ever since that game has come out, no less than 50 people total have hopped the fence into my back yard to catch a pokemon. Apparently my back yard is a popular spawn point, but the plain and clear "No Trespassing" sign, should still mean, to not come into my back yard. I don't care if you can't catch it from the fence, it doesn't mean hop over it, even if it is "just for a second."
One of the funniest reasons people have given me for wanting in my back yard is "there's a pokemon right over there, please?" Umm... I'm gonna go with no. And for those who have done it just out of nowhere, even when I've been in the back yard watching, and caught them, their excuses were things along the lines of "I'm sorry, I didn't see the signs that you put up" even though there's 5 of them just at eye level...
If I hop over my fence out of my yard, I'm in our community park, where hundreds of people walk in circles every day playing this game. Look, I get it, it's fun, it gets you out of the house, and it lets you meet new people. Sorry my back yard is a spawn point sometimes, but I'm still not okay with people coming in my back yard. Tomorrow is usually the day I tend to my garden, where I grow all sorts of things. Including multiple Birds of Paradise, which are very hard to grow, and are just about to start blooming as we come up on September. Two of my Birds of Paradise, out of my five, have already been destroyed by these people... Most of what I grow is right along that fence about a foot inside of my yard, and people hopping over it have destroyed more than just some of my Birds of Paradise, they aren't the only exotic plants I have, and it's really pissing me off.
I've thought about electrifying it, nothing too bad, just enough of a shock to make people think " hmm... maybe I shouldn't touch that," which is legal in my community with the proper paperwork, and one posted sign, for every 10 feet of fencing, warning people that's it's electrified. But it's too extreme to start with, so tonight I've simply put up barbed wire, and I will update you all how that goes tomorrow.
