I mean i do understand why the law is there just so you have time to get comfortable behind the wheel instead of putting others in danger when you JUST got your license, but i completely did not follow the law.

All through the US has this law, not sure UK. But this law is only for those who get their license under 18 years old. Over 18 doesn't matter.

I can only drive with my immediate family in the car for the first 6 months and then after that I'm good to do whatever.

That 6 month thing is there for a reason. You are a new driver, you don't know if you are good (and probably are not like all new drivers). Passengers are a distraction, keeping passengers out of the vehicle for those 6 months while you learn to drive is very important. I understand you may not see it that way because you are just an ignorant kid (not to be meant in a bad way) who thinks they can drive just fine with passenger, and albeit you probably can, however that 6 month rule is there to limit distractions.

Wow, which states does this apply to? My state doesn't have this. I've never heard of this until now.

In Australia you have to have your learners permit for a minimum of a year with a 100 hours of driving written in a log book. Then you move on to your provisional license or what we call P's, which you can drive by yourself and friends but once it hits 11pm only 1 person outside of your immediate family can be in the car, unless of an emergency of course. It takes so long to get your open license over here, its like 2 years depending on how much you drive

I understand the purpose of this rule, Im just saying it seems a bit over extended and I personally annoyed because I am able to handle passengers fine.
