So I accidentally left my TV on while I went out and it managed to burn my facebook chat into my tv ever so slighty, I was wondering if anyone knows of any methods that could possibly lessen this?

I suggest trying to rub the screen with an anti-scratch cloth while its on. Rub in circles with your hand. Then you want to power the device down and do it again. Then I would also try to heat or cold that area of the screen with a blow dryer. If none of the following work then I guess you might want to get a new tv or consult an expert.

You can also try just to keep a constantly changing image (like a photo slide show or something) that fills the screen for a few hours

Take your TV to like a Best Buy, or like a Walmart preferably. And tell them that you would like to use your employee discount on a new TV

I have had this issue before and nothing I did would mend it. Usually if you have a BURN it's permanently copied into the glass/LCD. You could replace it or just buy a new TV. Either way you're setting yourself back a few hundred dollars.
