I have been looking into it for awhile now, I planned on starting at the start of this 2nd semester but my counselor and parents insisted I finish the school year first.
Mainly I've looked into it because I just despise the environment of high school in general. I feel like I outgrew it before I even started it. I really don't care about the social aspect of it, I hang out with my friends outside of school all the time.
Also, I feel I am much more mature and academically advanced than most of my peers. I'm already taking the highest available courses at my grade level and I'm bored out of my mind because I need at a faster pace and that's not possible at a typical public school.
It is probably far fetched that anyone here would have personal experience but it's worth a shot. Thanks!

Even if you do join cyber youre technically still in a "class" and will still go as fast as other students can go. Unless you take an online course through the school and it's pre-recorded videos and lessons.

My fiance takes all her collage classes online. It requires a lot more studying because you don't have that first person learning as you would in the classroom she loves it though. You have to push yourself to get the stuff done.

I took online school. I found it easier to do because no one is distrscting you and you can do it at your own pace.

I took online school to try to avoid all the bs school stuff (like pointless labs and projects) but literally the first week that stuff started up and the amount of work from it was as much as in-person school which kinda defeated the purpose for me, rather just do the important things and get rid of the fluff. overall online school can be misleading and you should definitely look into yours to make sure it's right for you.

I did online school, I started in the second semester with no issue. I just wish I would've gotten into it sooner to be honest with you. When I finished a class, I was able to add another one so I could graduate earlier. I started second semester of 10th grade and graduated first semester of 12th grade. If I didn't work, I could've graduated at the end of 11th grade.

As far as the social aspect, you can go into the online classrooms if you want to / need to, but I never did. Your school might be different, but my school offered like a field trip if you will so everyone could meet each other. It was just a lunch at a park but it was kinda cool. Some of the people who disappeared from traditional school where there so I knew where they went lol.

One thing I will tell you though is you need to be very self disciplined. There is no set time of let's read this book and do some work, you do everything on your time. Your teachers will tell you to turn this and that in but they really don't care if you do or not. If your grades slip below 60% there are extra meetings and it will go to taking out one of your classes. With that being said, there is no "off time". I used to school 12-14 hours a day because there wasn't anything else to do. I finished the year of school in a total of 3 months. My biggest tip to you is, work during breaks. For Christmas break (winter break for all your politically correct folk) there is nothing due for a couple weeks. You can take those two weeks off, or work those two weeks and now you're two weeks ahead. The way I looked at it as is I could take a break in the middle of school, or I could keep pushing and have a longer summer vacation.

All in all, if you can discipline yourself, I'd say go for it. Online school was by far the best decision I've made yet. If you're not very disciplined, don't do it. You'll just waste your time and prolong graduation.

Interesting, that sounds perfect for me. I know if I had the opportunity to I would be moving ahead very quickly along my courses but obviously in traditional school that is not an option. Now, the thing about my state (CA) is they have many online public schools but from the information im given it seems like its the exact same thing just online. For example, they said I would have to move with a class and not necessarily be able to work ahead in an entire course. I'm gonna talk with a guidance counselor to see if this actually is this the case, but how did it work for you? Did you just get your courses and go along like that freely? Also, if its possible to link me to where you went it would be very helpful for me to compare and maybe interpret better.

Im currently a Junior doing online school and i really enjoy it. If you are a quick learner then you can finish a whole week of school in 2 days. Also it required you to stay focused because so many things could distract you and for me im a really social person so its ok but not my favorite.

They said that to me and it somewhat is true. The teachers frown upon working ahead because it makes them work harder, but screw 'em. They don't need to grade the work until it's due, you're just insuring that your work is done. Past that, the only block for me was you can only work one semester at a time. When school starts, they gave me all the work I needed to do until the end of first semester. I then had to wait until second semester for more work.

As far as where I went, I honestly couldn't even tell you. We called k12, we enrolled with them, but the name was WAVA (Washington virtual academy), but I'm graduation from ISWA (insight school of Washington). As if that isn't confusing, I'm enrolled in the ISWA for Tacoma (by Seattle). My diploma is coming from a completely different school over 200 miles away lol. All my materials where shipped from k12 and a lot of the logos on the other sites where k12, so I assume that I was enrolled in k12 and the WAVA / ISWA was just a branch off because k12 is a national school, so WAVA would be the state and ISWA would be the area or something like that, not sure how it works. If I where you, I'd just visit the k12 website and get the info kit and maybe call them to ask specific questions.

Ahh yeah that sounds about right, the most prevalent one here is called CAVA (no coincidence there) so they are basically the same schools just following more specific state laws. That being said if you were able to graduate early from there then I'm sure I'll have the ability to do from here as well. I'm gonna ring em up to ensure I can reach my goal and I'll see from there. Thanks for the info aye
