If it irks you then by all means post all that you want about it in the rant forum but don't expect everyone agree with you. Every individual person has his or her own opinion and in this case my opinion disagrees with your opinion.

I agree with op. I hate football, but love soccer so if you're American and call soccer football it's just weird..... I mean yea sure foot ball is what you play with your feet, but if you around other Americans just say soccer otherwise you will be labeled as a wanna be Brit or weird.

On another note I've met friends that say mate and have many British words in there system ( they call fries chips ) I simply make fun of them and tell them to stop because it's weird...

Its football lets be real here, you kick a ball with your foot. You dont sick a pair of socks on and run about a pitch. Most of the countrys in the world call it football, just the americans have to be different as useal
