If it comes to him coming to your house, definitely involve the police.
They will surely know what to do. I would hate for someone to come to my house looking for trouble. That was a mistake giving him your address but now you know. Best of luck and hope everything goes well.

YES, NEVER EVER MEET AT YOUR HOUSE. Ive done it once when I sold my 360 but I told them my house was being bugged for termites even though it was really mine, gave them a fake address, but from now on if anyone ever wants to meet at your house decline.
Meet at like a starbucks if they want to verify it works.

Frayasaur wrote You do not have to give a refund. It's Craigslist, there aren't return policies and such because you are not affiliated with Craigslist, you are your own business. Craigslist is merely for advertising, so you have nothing to worry about. If the Xbox was working when you gave it to him, then he probably messed it up after you sold it to him.

Basicly everything Fray said is correct, you do not have to give him a refund.

Screw him. He bought it used and he could have chosen to test it before buying.

The last time I took back an item from a guy I got screwed. I sold a guy my old tablet, he used it and it worked. A day later he calls me saying it doesn't work, would you refund me? Being a good guy I took it back and sure enough it wasn't working. I took it to a computer repair place and they said that it was soaked in water.

I would take the money and run if I where you.

True. I'm really regretting having met at my house, otherwise I could just tell him to piss off and blocked him. Now I have to deal with this shit.

If you have an iPhone just block his number.
Or say you had explosive diarrhea and all the money had to be used on a new bathroom. That always works

As long as you did not do that trade at your house then you will be fine, just ignore him. However if he knows where you live or knows your personal life then your screwed. When I deal with craigslist, its like a huge anonymous deal. You do not know me and I do not know you. I don't even give people my real name nor do I let them come by my house or give them a single idea of where I live. The world is not safe anymore especially when dealing with craigslist.

That's why don't have people meet at your house lol.

Reguardless I would tell him no. If he does show up at your house, tell him to get off the property and if he doesn't call the police.

I don't know if you have a big dog or a shotgun, but those generally make it so that you don't have to call the cops.

Just a few tips for ANYONE dealing with Craigslist, please realize the Craigslist is repetitively safe. You hear the one in 10k stories, not the other 9,999.

I prefer to keep everything in E-mail or text, that way if they do ever want to sue me, I can show every thing that was ever said.

Secondly, everyone that wants to meet to buy your item will ask "where are you located?". NEVER give them the city you live in. Even if it is a big city, don't give them that info. Give them a city that's next to yours. That way say they do want a refund or something, they know what you drive and they will search your city for your car. Give them the wrong city, they will be searching the wrong area.

Just for general safety, try and take you friend, your mom, your brother, your bf/gf, your dog, etc. That way there will be less chance of them stealing your item or money.

Again for safety purposes, say you are buying an item that is 50 dollars. Take out 50 dollars and put it in your pocket. That way when you hand them the money, they don't see how much is in your wallet and therefore won't be tempted to steal.

Next, say they reply to your ad, and they say where they are. Google maps the city they are in, and see how far away it is. Say they are 25 miles North of you. Find a city 25 miles South of you and say you are from there but you can meet them mid way (so in your city). Just saves you gas and time lol.
