So, I sold my Xbox one to this guy a few days back, and today I got a voicemail saying that's "it's not working out to well and id rather buy a new one" whatever the hell that means. I gave him a perfect condition Xbox one with eveything included plus some popular games. Now he wants to return it. I'm concerned he could be pulling a scam.

my question is, I have no legal obligation to refund him right? I'm not trying to screw anyone over here but it feel like he is. Then again we did meet at my house (my mistake).

Any experience or wisdom or appreciated ://

EDIT: He said "system lags controller lags it freezes a lot" and that's complete BS

How can he scam you if your doing it in person? The only thing i can think of is if he gave it back broke but you could just test it before he leaves...

You do not have to give a refund. It's Craigslist, there aren't return policies and such because you are not affiliated with Craigslist, you are your own business. Craigslist is merely for advertising, so you have nothing to worry about. If the Xbox was working when you gave it to him, then he probably messed it up after you sold it to him.

Dont fall for any scams. Its very strange. I wouldnt give him a refund.
No matter how much he intimidates you, dont fall for it, OR, you could take it back and just verify it is the same one, just to avoid any problems

hopefully he doesnt live near you, I mean that sounds fishy to me man. I would just ignore him, hope I dont see him for a month or two and just let it go. You shouldnt have to refund him.

who knows maybe he already had an xbox one that was broken, replaced it, asks for refund so he gets a new one for free.

He probably broke it himself and he wants to just try and get his money back. Don't do it if I were you. Ignore and just do whatever you can to not get into contact with him. If you do get into contact with him, ask him for proof.

My only concern is he knows my address. As a last resort if he keeps pushing even after I refuse to refund him, I'll just tell him ill involve the police and let them conclude. I suppose if he has a real claim, he should have no problem with me doing that.

If it comes to him coming to your house, definitely involve the police.
They will surely know what to do. I would hate for someone to come to my house looking for trouble. That was a mistake giving him your address but now you know. Best of luck and hope everything goes well.
