Title says it, what are the police like in your area?

I live in LA and let me tell you the police on the car scene or "1320" scene are incredibly strict. If you're car looks even slightly modified you WILL get pulled over. And if they do find a mod (on the outside at least, not sure if they can force you to pop the hood) you get hit with heavy fines.

And these days, the risk of going to a car meet is greater than ever. I went to one just a couple of days ago and as soon as we left the main meeting point, at least 6 police cruisers come speeding along side us and blocked us in. Most cars managed to escaped but 8-10 of us were trapped.

These cops mean business too. I feel bad for the people in very front of the line too, cause my buddy who was got a gun pulled on him and by his account, it wasn't fun at all. Luckily, they couldn't find us guilty by association I assume so they just checked our licenses etc and let us off with a stern talk and warning. They said don't even risk being a spectator of street racing because if we're caught there, they will arrest us and we could face potentially up to a year in jail.

Things have been very hot ever since an unfortunately fatal accident a while back so it's understandable why things are like this. More information on that specific event can be found [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

I personally am staying away from the meets hopefully until a good alternative is found or the heat dies down. The risk is just too great at the moment.

So how about you guys, what are the police like where you live?

In the UK, where I live there pretty chilled out, I mean you can have mods on your car and they don't seem to care.

The only reason they pulled you over is probably because there police car is shit, and completely stock, so they probably jealous of your car! ;)

Ha, I can see how that'd be a possibility but to be fair, we do have a terrible reputation with the cops around here lol. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Down here they police are very strict, whenever there's a fast car or something on the road they act like it's the end of the world.

Live in a small town, the police around here monitor the whole region with stations probably in every city. They aren't too bad very relaxed and pretty much only give "Warnings" unless obviously it's something bad you've done. I bought my car from a guy who is a cop and he's awesome and most of the ones I have encountered are great, unless you're being a dick.

I would say the police around my area are really relaxed and pretty much dont care about anything lol.

A few mates and I were out on the bikes last night and 2 of us have extremely loud exhausts, a few police cars drove past while my mates was wheelieing (if thats how you spell it) and they just kept on driving, never looked back lol

UK cops are fine i find, if I do bump into one while cruising through town they usually compliment my car as most people find it cool

Around my area, you get the odd power crazed cop that is a total prick, but they are the best ones to annoy.

My area is known to be quite "rough" but you don't see any cops at all. Just the occasional patrolling around like normal procedure
