I myself despise the show now and I used to like it. Season 1 episodes 1-15 were great. But after that everything has gone downhill. Kirito who is suppose to be the most badass character in the whole series but he some how gets all the girls including his beloved cousin and he has the personality of a rock....ironic huh? This show is surrounded by never ending romance and fan service. This show was suppose to be amazing and fresh since it was a new show to join the anime list in 2012. Every girl acts the same way around Kirito and that is being a attention hording idiot. I would have respected Kirito if only Asuna liked him and all the other girls stayed away because he was taken....that was not the case. Sadly the only girls I liked in the show was Lisbeth from season 1 and 2 and Sinon from season 2. The popularity of this show is very high and I'm amazed by it. There are lots of great anime. Honestly my favorite animes are Death Note and the Dragonball Franchise and many more and every anime has flaws but SAO has so many flaws especially in season 2. Also why would an anime be 49 episodes long and only cut the best half of the whole series into 15 episodes. Which was Aincrad. I mean look at Dragonball and it has well over 400 episodes. Also a story about beating 100 floors and getting to the real world would be at least 100 episodes if not more. Why cut it to 15? WTF. This show in season 3 needs to bring back the epicness that was found in Aincrad to ever obtain my attention again.

I too liked the anime, and was blown off from the second season. Sinon was one of my favorite characters as well.

The biggest reason to why people hate SAO is due to the fanboys always saying how SAO is the best anime ever, even tho the only show they have watched is SAO.
It pisses people off.
The show is ok and all but it gets annoying when those people with 1 show watched and it's SAO and they go on and on about how it is the best anime ever.

I never said I would watch it but I think aincrad would have been better if it was a lot longer and didn't hop into land of the boring fairies known as ALO. A lot of fans of the show wouldn't mind watching a lot more episodes based on aincrad

I honestly liked the hardships that Kazuto endured during his entrapment in Aincrad. I really just didn't know what to say with the fairies, and how they mixed ALO and Aincrad. I just feel that the writers are just squeezing out the Anime.
