Sanctyy wrote Monitors, easily. What specific PSU do you have? We can't know if it needs an upgrade, unless we know make and model.

before i read your comment i was thinking the same thing. But you should get matching monitors , might just be a little OCD thing but i like matching monitors.

Yeah, not having the same monitors ticks me off. The monitors are nice, usb passthroughs and whatnot. The PSU isn't future proof, but it does work. Hasn't hurt anything yet. If im gonna take apart my entire computer to install a PSU (My fault for not thinking ahead) then i'm looking for a GOOD unit. Is too much wattage bad? Like if i went overkill and bought a 800 or 900watt is that bad?

I don't really know what PSU to suggest but having a higher PSU isn't 'bad' so to speak.. It won't "break your computer" kind of thing. It will only draw what power is needed but having excess wattage is simply a waste. It will affect the efficiency of the unit in the long run as well as being more expensive to use.

It's ideal if, like you said, you plan to upgrade with a substantial part like a second 970.

Here's the PSU I have (I currently only have one 970 as I'm lacking the cash atm to get my second one. It's served me well so far and has good ratings overall. I can't see why it would be a bad choice for you.

Phew. That's pricey. Really pricey. Does it include free cookies? 134 bucks for a 750watt..seems high to me. Strange that newegg doesn't have it. I like the full modular, though. I need:

SLI capability: 2 or more way, minimum 2
Doesn't need to be modular, but it'd be nice.
750 watts
At least 8 sata power connections, 20+4pin, and since i'll have another 970 at least 4 6pins.

As I said, I'm not really the one to go to for suggestions, I bought it at a much lower price ( I think about 80GBP at the time ). I cba to take apart my tower to have a look at it but I'm fairly sure it had 4 x 6pin slots. Not sure how many sata connections, it's got at least 5 cause that what I use atm
It's 4:44am and I can't be bothered to go looking into my parts this much

A good 750/850W unit is going to set you back around $120 anyway, so $130 is not all that bad. You can get an XFX XTR or EVGA G2 unit for around $120-$130 before rebates. 750W is fine for SLI 970s. If you're not going to add another 970, a 550W PSU would do. Just because your current PSU hasn't blown up yet, doesn't mean it won't. Upgrade that asap.
