Release Date: February 15, 2008

Developers: Dylan Fitterer, Steam Online

Platforms: Microsoft Windows, Zune HD

Genres: Puzzle/Rhythm

Synopsis

Audiosurf is a puzzle/rhythm hybrid game created by Invisible Handlebar, a personal company created by Dylan Fitterer. It's track-like stages visually mimic the music the player chooses, while the player races across several lanes collecting colored blocks that appear in sync with the music. The game was released on February 15, 2008 over Steam, a few days after winning the Independent Games Festival 2008 Excellence in Audio Award, heavily influenced by the hit soundtrack composed by Pedro Macedo Camacho; the full version was for a long time only available for purchase through Steam, but was later released as a retail product in Europe, by Ascaron. Audiosurf was the first third party game to use Valve's Steamworks technology. The Zune HD version was also released as Audiosurf: Tilt. The sequel, Audiosurf 2 was released with early access on October 2, 2013. The announcement was made through Dylan Fitterer's Twitter account.

Gameplay

Audiosurf is a fun and addicting game well that is if you have your own songs, if you don't the game is gonna be boring. But the game can be very fun you can play any song you want. Like I mean any song. This game can be upsetting playing on a higher difficulty. But at the same time it can fun as it is your first try. This game can be highly addicting once you have a lot of songs. You can play on various difficulties like, Easily, Medium, Hard and Expert. Easy I enjoy playing because I can just have fun and not have to worry about anything, playing Expert I don't enjoy playing because I have to worry about plenty of stuff at some times playing the game it can get quite annoying but it's still fun! I personally enjoy playing this game as I said it can be really fun. I would highly recommend people playing this game as it so fun and you can play any song as you like. Like you can play Through the Fire and Flames no problem. But if you have no songs there are built in ones that can be fun, but at the same time really boring. The built in songs are decent not the greatest though, but if you don't have any songs, then you can just play those songs on any difficulty. I personally don't like playing them besides a select few. But I do enjoy this game, I have played quite a few times and I enjoyed it quite a bit. But it can also possibly hurt your eyes while playing this game, it didn't hurt my eyes, but I am used to playing games like that. But nonetheless, this game is a great game and I would highly recommend you buy it off of steam to go play it, but this game can be very, very fun if you know what to do, if you don't know what to do this game will more than likely be boring to you.

Graphics

The graphics for this game are very good. I enjoy the graphics a lot, but at the same time I don't enjoy them, as it can hurt your eyes once in a while. If you're not used to playing games with a lot of color in them that goes relatively fast then this game may hurt your eyes. This game doesn't hurt my eyes, though, but it's different for other people. This game does have good graphics for a relatively fast paced game. For that I think the graphics are great! There are also other things I like about the graphics are the characters you can be. There are quite a few characters, but they all look great. I still think the graphics could be worked on a little bit, but not much, as the only thing I think would need a bit of work would be the home screen, other than that the graphics are still good. There aren't that many things they can fix with the graphics besides the one I said. Once they make that look better the graphics would be perfect! As for the gameplay the graphics are still wonderful the colors blend together nicely, and while playing the game you will see how good the graphics are. The graphics don't really need any improving besides the one I suggested as that is probably the only thing I don't like about it. But nonetheless great graphics.

Controls

The controls for this game are perfect, they are easy to learn and easy to pick up. I like the controls a lot. As it is just so easy to remember where they are and what you're doing. There really isn't a flaw in them other than remembering what does what but you can remember that at some point. The controls can't use any fixing as they are too easy to remember if you can't remember the controls, or find it too hard then this game is gonna be too hard to play. This game is very easy to play with these controls as they are just perfect for me, and for others. They may be able to fix it up a little bit, but I don't really see why the world. They could add an option where you can have set to your own controls, so that way the game could be a bit easier for you, but I don't really see people liking that besides a select few. As I said, though the controls are very easy to remember. If you can't remember them well this game is gonna be a bit challenging for you
