After I built my PC I never put the side panel back on incase it didn't work, thankfully it worked. But I still haven't put it back on, because I can't be bothered.

I was wondering is it bad for the system to keep it open? I thought it'd give it a bit more cool air and keep it running cooler since the heat doesn't build up inside the case. I don't really care about looks either which is why I don't mind having the side panel off. But if it's bad for the system I'll put it back on right away.

Thanks.

If anything I would say bad due to the amount of dust that could get inside, but 1 plus side is easy to clean if/ when dust does start gathering.

I'd be wary of dust having free reign on getting into your system so I'd say check it frequently.

Other than that it won't harm the system to be missing a panel.

Your temps should be lower, but dust buildup will become a bigger problem.

Alright thanks for the replies. I'm aware of dust getting in and I usually check it for dust, but it looks all good

Thanks again.

Just use a hairdryer every now and again (when it's off) to clear out dust and it will be fine.

You should see my air conditioner. Fan > box of ice > other hole in box = cold room.

Speaking of ghetto cooling, saw a video once of when Slick from Linus Media Group showed off his oiled cooled computer in a fishtank. Was badass

I'm guessing you've seen liquid nitrogen 7-8GHz overclocks. Also saw liquid helium, even more hardcore. Even lower boiling point.
